Tiny room, poor quality beds and mattresses. Not a nice place to stay even one night. On top, we had someone early in the morning doing ground digging work directly in front of our room - I don't think this is reasonable. Breakfast was poor, tables were dirty. We found hair in both the food and on the tables. Pretty disgusting.

The location was pretty good, but not quite in the center of town so required driving or walk to restaurants and activities. The breakfast was good with several options. They also have a bookcase with a number of books in Icelandic and English (and perhaps other languages).

It was not apparent from the property descriptions that this is college dormitory converted to hotel lodging over the summer months. Really felt like going to back to my college days living in the very spartan dorm. Additionally, there are rooms with good views but we were not given those depsite there being very few guests staying in the hotel. Finally, there was construction being done over the summer and the construction equipment and supplies made it less appealing and obstructed the views from one of our rooms.

I never write bad reviews, even when something displeases me, I avoid writing reviews. However, this time I cannot refrain from doing so. I work in the hospitality industry and have held various positions, from cleaning, breakfast shift, evening waitress, receptionist, to general manager. My experience gives me high standards regarding hotel services. We arrived at the hotel, paying 200 euros for a room, which is a normal price for a mid-quality room in Iceland. However, this place should not be called a hotel – at best, it’s a youth hostel. Our first room smelled of cigarettes, and the odor lingered for a long time. Moreover, the room was not clean. I asked the receptionist for a refund, which she couldn't provide, and I understand that it was likely impossible in my situation. She offered us a room change, which we accepted. The new room was larger and had a small balcony. It was clear that the receptionist was trying her best to make us satisfied. I didn't want to lose money or cause the receptionist any more trouble. However, later on, I noticed hairs in the shower and other places on the bathroom floor. In my opinion, this is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for the guest who pays for a stay. I have never encountered such dirt and bad odor in a hotel room. The second room also smelled unpleasant, this time of urine, which seemed to come from the mattresses and not from the cleaning staff. Overall, I do not recommend this place. It's better to pay more and stay elsewhere.

Small public space.

Front desk staff are bright and accommodating. Breakfast was ample, classic and well presented. Easy walking distance to town and great hiking path above it. Rooms are quiet and comfortable and spotless.

I did not find anything dissapointing.
