Hótel Torfnes

Rooms were big and had private bathrooms.

No microwave, can’t use kitchen / dining area unless a staff is doing everything for you. Water was foggy, didn’t seem clean.

Young staff very helpful. Handy enough to walk into town. Breakfast limited (continental) but perfectly adequate

Great location. Pretty quiet. Large continental breakfast with lots of choices. Private bathroom. It's a school during the year and it hosts travelers during the summer....but adults stay here during the summer. .it's not a youth hostel. You get a discount at a restaurant inside a sister property that's a short walk away. Some rooms look at grass and a neighborhood. Some rooms overlook the water.

There are laundry facilities in the building, but they aren't available for travelers. It would be nice if the managing hotel could get travelers access to the washing machines and dryers. (Laundromats don't exist in Iceland.) The bed was a little uncomfortable compared to others I've slept on in the country....but it wasn't a deal breaker for us.

Great breakfast, room was clean.

There was no sign anywhere so a bit rough to find. It had the feel of a college dorm, not much art on the walls, no feeling of welcomeness. A bit far from ‘downtown’s
