Araluen Park Cottages

The cottage we stayed in ("Lilly Pilly") was large, comfortable and intricately decorated. The style is that of a different time and may not be to everyone's taste (it is very ornate), however, the furnishings, rather than being vintage and perhaps old and tired, are new and vibrant and beautifully made. The cottages are on a rural property a short drive from Lakes Entrance and not within walking distance of any restaurants, nor is there a water view. On the other hand, sitting on the balcony overlooking the native forest resonating with bird calls was one of the highlights of our trip. The host was very welcoming and, yes, as suggested by some of the photos, there are alpacas in a field next to the cottages.

Charming cottage with fireplace, beautiful old furniture and a sense of fun in the decor. Very well appointed kitchen and bacon and eggs supplied for breakfast.
