The Firs

The Firs is a beautiful place and is a great place to relax away for a few days. Plenty of space to walk around or sit by the lakes. And it’s lovely to sit outside at night. The owners are really friendly and helpful with all your needs. I will definitely be going back again.

Hard to believe that it was so close to Ashford yet so rural.

Not a complaint but maybe an Alexa or radio could be added.

Toilet facilities for the campers very noisy

Fully equipt with everything we needed. Surroundings are beautiful. My husband enjoyed the fishing.

The location of the lodge & campsite is excellent. Set in beautiful wooded surroundings, well away from the main roads, with its own fishing lake, it is very handy for Folkestone & Dover. It was mostly quiet & peaceful. The friendly owners were very welcoming & chatty. Fresh milk was in the fridge of the lodge.

The lodge had a musty odour and although quite large it was rather basic. It was clean & tidy, but the kitchen equipment was rather lacking. The small shelf-top oven, with 2 ring hob, struggled to boil a pan of water. The sizeable bathroom has a good shower, but a campsite toilet is next door, with no soundproofing between the two rooms. Coffee, sugar, teabags and 2 small boxes of breakfast cereal were provided, but were mostly out of date. The dining table would have been of more use with a couple of decent chairs, rather than the outdoor camping chairs provided. The Lodge gave me the impression that I was camping, but in a cabin rather than a tent or caravan.

The setting was delightful.
