Hotel Trópico Monteverde

Beautiful location. Very clean room and extremely helpful staff. We wish we could have stayed few more days to enjoy this hotel and the fantastic sunset from the hotel garden. Special thanks to Jose for going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

Jose was incredibly welcoming and helped organise some trips for. The room and views are spectacular ! The restaurant is also excellent with Kristel the sunset queen looking after diners with an enormous amount of charm.

They think guests are dishonest  A credit card was not requested at Check-in to make a pre-authorization.  When I consumed at the pool (US$ 35)l, when I was without my wallet, the attendant called the reception, in front of me to check if I had credit. As the answer was negative, they informed me that I would have to pay immediately. I had to ask my friend to go to the room to get my wallet, which is very far away, to make the payment.  I believe that treating all guests as dishonest is a bad policy of the hotel.  Hotel weaknesses: Breakfast without any option of bread, cakes and cold cuts.  Bathrooms in urgent need of renovation. Box that leaks water, showers  and taps loose.  Bed linen already old and worn.  To go to the beach you need to walk 10 minutes on a steep and muddy path.  Basically, a 4-star hotel that at most should have 3 stars. 

Quarto amplo e confortável. Excelente vista. Limpeza impecável. Simpatia dos funcionários.

Não tem ar condicionado e pode fazer calor de dia (mas a maioria dos hotéis de Monteverde também não tem). Está localizado junto de uma rodovia, com pouco movimento, mas que tem de vez em quando barulho de caminhões. Dependendo do quarto, pode-se ter pouca privacidade.

מלון בוטיק מקסים. חדר ברמה גבוהה מאוד, הכל חדש ומתוחזק, חשבו על הפרטים הקטנים. המלון עצמו מטופח ויפה. יש במקו םסעדה אבל לא יצא לי לאכול בה. הצוות ניסה לסייע בהכל. ראיתי שהקשר האישי עם הלקוחות חשוב להם.

Great owner, very helpful and friendly (Jose). We lost our keys at one point and he didn’t bat an eyelid, just gave us another set and told us to forget about it. Very relaxing, chilled feel the whole time. Amazing view when the clouds disappear!
