Electric kept going off but we actually enjoyed the quiet.

Die Lage ist top..am Ende der Orang-Utan Straße in schöner grüner Lage... ein Traum...das Zimmer wirkt urig, toller Ausblick auf den Fluss, tolles Essen, tolle Menschen.. und Affen am Morgen, die sogar bis auf den Balkon vorbei schauen.

Es gibt wenig Schränke oder Haken, um was aufzuhängen, sonst nix zu meckern...

What stood out was the staff. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Rudi & Dan gave the best jungle trekking tour you can find in Bukit Lawang, or at least they make you think that!

I would not recommend the massage

I'm very surprised at how everyone seemed to love this property in the reviews so ours may have been a unique experience. But I would like to share our experience: The hotel messaged us that all activities had to be paid in cash. What they didn't mention is that there are no ATM's in Bukit Lawang. The nearest one is in a town 30km away and they offered to take us (on a motorcycle) but in researching, we found that the machine doesn't accept VISA. The only money exchange in Bukit Lawang charges 7%. So don't make the mistake we made...get cash ahead of time! The hotel sits right on the main road along the river and it is so busy with motorcycles and in the afternoon, people screaming as they come down the river on their tubes. The road is really just a pathway about 5' wide and between the noise you hear from your hotel room and trying to walk that pathway, it's not fun at all. The real deal breaker was the room. It had bathroom on the ground floor, then you had to climb a flight of stairs and then a steep wooden ladder to get to the bedroom. Not a lot of fun in the middle of the night. We ended up finding a darling bungalow across the river...no motorcycles, no stairs to the bedroom. It had a/c, which this hotel doesn't, great water pressure in the shower and cost less! We found an excellent trekking company that accepted credit cards and it actually cost 10 euros less. Our hotel let us charge everything...food, airport transfer. No cash! This hotel did refund us the unused nights booked, which we appreciate. But leaving it was the best decision we made.

Very nice stay. Good help from staff and specially Pen who is always in a good mood. With Rudi and Dan as guides, we had a very good jungle tour. They had a lot of information. Saw orang utangs and other apes. And enjoyed a very good lunch.

Personeel was super vriendelijk. Hielp ons met alles om het verblijf aangenaam te maken. Omgeving is prachtig. Speciaal te noemen: Adi en Jerry onze tour guides tijdens onze 1 daagse trekking door de jungle. Veel gezien, veel gelachen en goed verzorgd👍

Alles heeft voor en nadelen. Heerlijk, aapjes die spelen voor je neus, maar in de ochtend springen ze op het dak...geeft wat lawaai.

Zum Aufladen der elektronischen Geräten sollten im Zimmer mehrere Stecker installiert werden. Es gab nur eins an der Wand. Es fehlt an Haken oder Kleiderbügeln um die Kleider aufzuhängen. Das Licht ist zu düster. Die Eingangstüre und das Schloss müssten ausgewechselt werden. Der Balkon sollte täglich gereinigt werden. Die Affen springen in der Früh herum und lassen ihre Bedürfnisse liegen. Ansonsten ist das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein schöner gepflegter Garten. Several power outlets should be installed in the room for charging electronic devices. There was only one on the wall. There are no hooks or hangers to hang the clothes. The light is too dim. The front door and the lock would need to be replaced. The balcony should be cleaned daily. The monkeys jump around in the morning and leave their droppings behind. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and helpful. A lovely, well-maintained garden.

Beim Frühstück wäre grössere Auswahl wünschenswert. A wider selection at breakfast would be desirable.

It was our first night after landing in Sumatra. We originally expected just a basic accommodation in a village near the national park entrance, but the village turned out to be a hidden paradise! Our guide met us at the village entrance, and as we walked, they greeted everyone along the way. All the locals were incredibly warm and welcoming, asking where we were from. The hotel is built right by the river, surrounded by tropical flowers and trees, and featured an amazing riverside shelter—perfect for relaxing and embracing the slow pace of life. The hotel is located deep inside the village, but the path leading to it is lined with inns and homestays, beautifully balancing the natural charm of a rainforest village with commercial convenience. The room itself was also very neat and tidy.

However, there were a few minor downsides. The room didn't have sealable windows, so in addition to the soothing sound of the river, you could hear quite a bit of motorcycle noise from the village. Fortunately, we were exhausted from a full day of flying and driving, so we fell asleep instantly. Also, the water pressure in the shower was very low, making it almost impossible for anyone with long hair to wash it properly.
