Alojamiento increíble en unas cabañas a 10 metros de la playa. Nuestra cabaña tenía una piscina pequeña interior y privada con agua dulce que se agradecía un chapuzón al regresar de la playa. Tienen otras cabañas en frente del mar, pero estas cumplieron nuestras expectativas con crece. La estancia no pudo ser mejor. Marlin la dueña, su marido y Elis la cocinera hicieron que nuestros días en las islas Kei fueran perfectos. Gracias Marlin por tu amabilidad, por estar siempre pendientes de nosotros con una sonrisa, gracias por aconsejarnos en todo momento y gracias por tu simpatía y cariño. Por ser tan cercana y humilde. Nos hemos sentido como en casa. Habéis sido unos anfitriones perfectos. Terima kasih!

L'emplacement, la simplicité, l'efficacité pour s'organiser pour les visites. La plage est juste à côté, et est splendide, et propice aux rencontres avec les locaux. La beauté des endroits visités dans et autour de l'île qui est paradisiaque. Surtout, Marlin, son mari, Alice, sont d'une grande gentillesse et très généreux. Ce fut un immense plaisir de passer quelques jours, comme dans une famille. Je conseille sans hésiter.

I was very disappointed with our stay at Mercy Cottage. We booked more than 6 months in advance, but on the day before our arrival the owner messaged to inform us that they was construction work being done next to our room, and that they were away from the island to care for a sick relative. The construction work caused multiple power and water outages (no showers or flushing toilet), and in the afternoons the builders would sit and smoke in the small courtyard directly in front of the room. The room is glass-fronted, affording little privacy. The room also had multiple gaps in the door frames leading to many mosquitos and the small pool behind the room was broken and empty. We were told by others on the island that the owner does not live on Kei. They did not return for the 3 weeks that we were on the island and we found a review from 2 years ago also noting that the owner doesn’t live on the island. After 5 days of our 3 week booking we checked out. After messaging the owner, they offered us accommodation at nearby Noel cottage, which they also own, but by this point it was too late as we had already booked alternative accommodation elsewhere. A request for a partial refund was refused, leaving us to pay for 15 nights’ accommodation that we didn’t use. Given that we had booked so long in advance, and that the other rooms were available, we were disappointed that an alternative room was not offered at the beginning of our stay, or at least a partial discount offered. The single staff member who prepares the meals at Mercy cottage was very friendly and a good cook.

Breakfast was great, made fresh just for us. The owner was very, VERY helpful explaning where the best places to go are. Google maps doesn't know all the roads in the island.

Mercy cottages is not to blame of course, but the amount of plastic rubbish on the beaches around the island is embarrassing.

Mercy Cottage is proof that you don't need a luxurious structure to have an unforgettable travel experience. This cottage, simple yet extremely welcoming, won us over with its family atmosphere and the extraordinary helpfulness of its staff. A special thanks goes to Marlene, the host, who proved to be a real guide for us. Her valuable advices and detailed informations about the island allowed us to discover hidden corners and have authentic experiences during our three-days stay. Always ready to answer to all our questions via WhatsApp. Thanks to her, we were able to fully appreciate the beauty of the island. Kudos also to Elise, who took care of us with care and kindness. Her attention to detail, both in the cleanliness of the room and in the preparation of the delicious breakfasts, made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended! The air cond in the room was very silent and efficient: not common in the area.

Wonderful location at the beach! Great views. Marlin is a great host, organizes anything you need.

The cottage is literally a stone throw away from the beach; the staff and the owner are all super lovely and helpful
