The Major Oak Lodge with Hot Tub

The site is very nice, we've previously stayed here on January and February all be in a different lodge's to this one.

The cleanliness of the lodge wasn't anywhere near what it should of been, the hot tub and outside area was full of bits and scum around the hot tub, dust on top of cupboards and wardrobes looked like it had built up for months, with dirty socks on top of the wardrobe in the twin bedroom, bugs, cobwebs in the kitchen area around the lights which isn't good when trying to cook so had to clean that up before we started to cook, they come to clean the hot tub but seemed like they just ran a cloth on the scum as all the bits were still in there and the scum reappeared later, and the cleaning supervisor paid us a visit stating in had only been cleaned on the Monday which I honestly don't believe, I must add that the owner had know idea of the cleanliness of the lodge and has informed me that she will be paying the site a visit to make sure cleaning standards are met and quiet rightly so.

The location was perfect for visiting family and friends in the york city centre. Very family friendly & the food we had delivered was lovely. Overall the stay was comfortable, peaceful & we would definitely return again.

Although overall the property was clean, we found what appears to have been makeup stains on one of the bed sheets on one of the single beds. ( we had not used them). When deciding between two lodges we chose this lodge as it states that there is a bath within the description. We chose this lodge as we have a young baby so we chose this lodge due to it having the bath for our baby to use. However there was no bath so I feel there is some false advertising on the site.

The standard of the lodge was good. Clean and with everything we needed.

Would like to be facing the lake and maybe more facilities for children.

Location of the site was good. Site was clean, quiet and peaceful.

The hot tub wasn't hot. It was dirty. Overall size. Not much on site if you aren't playing golf.

It was very clean and tidy and very relaxing.

Only bad thing was that the hot tub could of been made a little more private.

The site was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. For persons wishing to play golf it is perfect

The Lodge was actually a large caravan which was disappointing. They only provided one hand towel between two persons and one bath towel each for a while week. The bed linen was not up to standard and only one pillow per person. The caravan in general was rather shabby.

The lodge was excellent, had everything we needed and was spotless when we arrived. Location was great and the whole site was lovely, very quiet and peaceful.

The lodge was really lovely and clean. Very easy to find on the site. We had a query about the heat in the hot tub but that was sorted by reception very quickly. Everyone on site was friendly. We had delicious food from JJ's. Great holiday! 😊
