Kuranda Ngorongoro Lodge

The hosts were incredibly helpful and hospitable. We very much enjoyed our stay and meeting their lovely collection of birds. My favourite was fritz the cockatoo. We also did a wonderful nature walk.

ロケーションも、朝食も、足を伸ばして入れる浴槽もオーナーの人柄もホスピタリティーも大変よかった。 数少ない熱帯雨林での良好な宿泊施設なので、日本からの潜在的観光客は多いはず。レンタカーを借りない観光客としては公共交通のないこのような宿泊施設では宿に有料送迎をお願いしなければならないのだが、これも宿に世話になった。

徒歩で来ることは奨めない、といいながらもオーナーとの直接のメールでの連絡ができなかった(*)こと、近くにレストラン等はないのに、州の規則で夕食が出せないこと、キュランダの観光がケアンズからの1番列車が到着(10:25)してから、2番列車で帰る(15:30)までの間に限られ、例えば朝9時頃にSkyrailに乗れないなどKuranda滞在のメリットが少ないこと、など宿の責任外の問題は多い、(*): Booking.com 経由では連絡できたが、電波事情が必ずしもよくないので、直接のShort mail 等での連絡も必要になる。 小さな問題だが、電子レンジが動作せず、女主人(Sue)に助けを求める必要があった。

This is one of those places where you're kicking yourself for just having one night. It sounds like a great place from the reviews then you get there and everything exceeds the high expectations. It's a separate house from the hosts and it's immaculate. It's so wonderfully decorated you really feel like you're somewhere special. There's a full kitchen stocked with everything you could need. The best feature is the deck, there's so many wonderful bird sounds (and a few mysterious ones!) and you just want to sit there all day in the rainforest atmosphere. The hosts are so nice and they have a few exotic birds worth meeting. It was a perfect stay but all too short ... Thank you!

Quirky 2 bedroom lodge on the outskirts of Kuranda (5 mins drive in). Situated next to the owners home. Easy parking right next to lodge. Owners were very welcoming.

Wunderschöne Lodge, Lage im Regenwald nahe Kuranda, mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Sue und Patrick sind wunderbare Gastgeber mit vielen guten Tipps, und man wird von ihnen auch zum Apero eingeladen. Dabei lernt man ihre Vögel, welche sie pflegen, kennen, spannend. Tierfreunde kommen hier voll auf ihre Rechnung, da auch Wildtiere immer wieder auftauchen. Das Frühstück wird am Abend vorher geliefert und schmeckt hervorragend! Ein rundum perfekter Aufenthalt!
