Bwindi Forest Lodge

Our host was exceptional. He took care of all our needs. Although we did not book our gorilla Trek through this lodge, our host escorted us to the meeting area and stayed with us until we began our trek. The gate to the park was just down the hill. The food was wonderful. The soups were hearty and the homemade breads were delicious. Our room was adequate and comfortable. The covered sitting area outside the room had a nice view and was most comfortable.

Wi-Fi left much to be desired. The power goes out frequently in Buhoma which of course shuts down their Wi-Fi.

Location, view, clean rooms, good food (especially the soups!)

Food was great and location was good.

Quiet place in the middle of the village. Although in the evenings we heard local music and drum sounds was the place quite quiet and sounds were enjoyable. We could take sunbath on the grass in private place after gorilla trecking. Three-course dinners and breakfast were good. The best soups I ate in Uganda! The staff were very helpful.

It was difficult to go with the vehicle

The staff is very helpful, very friendly and you feel welcome. Food is good. Really nice showers with hot water. Electricity is not always on.

It is hard to valuate this hotel. Pictures look great. In reality it is nice - but it looks worn out in reality. But the people are so nice that I am sorry to point this out. Our stay was also influenced by the fact that we had to get an additional room at the extra cost of USD 40 per night for our son - even though we had booked a room for the three of us, and even had asked specifically, whether it was correct that he could stay in our room. Thus value for money was hardly what we think of this place. In relation to prices elsewhere i Uganda it seems expensive. But this might be because of the location.
