Cabañas Cañas Castilla

Best location in the area of La Cruz. Close to the beaches, yet secluded lush paradise. Our second time staying here. You are surrounded by native old trees that attracts wildlife- toucans, parrots, colibri, monkeys every days. It’s so peaceful. This place is a destination on its own. Cabins are very cozy, hot water always with good pressure. Crisp linens. Daily housekeeping. Great breakfast. But most importantly you will be warmly received by the owners. Wonderful people that make you feel at home. For sure will be back and recommending this place to everyone. Internet connection not great for those whose life depends on it.

Really nice property with nice and helpful owners. A great place to relax and have close encounter with animals such as monkeys, sloths, goats, chickens, rabbits, frogs,...Really great value for money and quite good meals too!

There was not much not to like. Though, beds could be a bit more comfortable

Lovely location, fantastic food and a very friendly welcome.

They have three very well-marked trails but it would help if they gave you an idea of how difficult they are how long you should allow to complete each one.

The little cabins are really amazing in a really rural area but not too far from the next city. You can see monkeys and sloths in the trees right in front of your cabin. The owners are really nice and marked some hikes starting from the accommodation. The breakfast is really delicious with homemade yoghurt. I would definitely return when I am again in Costa Rica.

This place is just magical! The cabins are equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable. AC is cold. The views of the river with the sounds of howler monkeys fantastic! The best part the trails along the river and through the farm! Two separate families of spider monkeys spotted on the first day along with a troupe of howlers and a sloth! The meals served were amazing great! Served family style so you will meet your fellow travelers! I just loved this place!

At the moment I can not think of a thing.

The breakfast was supreme, freshly baked European bread, homemade goat's milk yogurt, five different cheeses, eggs made to order, Agi is an amazing host and cook. Same for the dinner, it was delicious as well, chicken with potatoes and salad. The natural environment is amazing, adjacent to a small river and its own network of trails. In the trees on the property there are three-toed sloths, spider monkeys, and saw over a dozen species of bird, including the huge Ringed Kingfisher and beautiful Black-headed Trogon.n You hear Howler monkeys hooting much of the time.

Only thing not perfect was the wifi, a minor inconvenience, if you need good wifi can go into La Cruz just 15 minutes away.

The beauty , the tranquility, the staff, and the food only made you think I'm coming back here. Talking with the staff they told many of the people come back year after year.

There was really nothing that I didn't like. The shower functioned well but it could do with a simple quick renovation for cosmetic reasons. That's it!
