Pochote Lodge

I love the tranquility of the place. We were in the newer room and they were great. The common area is wonderful and the morning birds and fauna are gorgeous. The garden is beautiful. The room was just a good size

The bed are not really comfortable.

The room was spacious and clean, good private bathroom. Good motel style accomodation. The owner is eccentric in the best way, the language barrier (us not knowing much Spanish him not knowing much English) didn’t seem to be an issue. Gave us heaps of information at check in about the national park, entrance fees, layout of the accomodation etc and was up for a conversation. Beautiful quiet location in amongst the rainforest, definitely need a hire car to get to/from the sites. Didn’t eat the breakfast on offer as we made our own but it looked great.

The shared kitchen is small with minimal utensils and crockery. This could be improved as there’s no other eating out options. Could do with a bigger bin in the room.

Francisco is a very nice host, friendly, welcoming, and always kind. The place itself is beautiful, with a very well-maintained garden that makes the surroundings pleasant. The room was very clean, which we really appreciated.

The price feels quite high compared to what we received. We stayed in room n°1, which is right next to the owner’s house. Because of this, it was quite loud and felt more like staying with the inhabitants rather than in a lodge or independent accommodation. The shared kitchen could also be improved: it would benefit from more cooking equipment and better overall cleanliness. Overall, while the host and cleanliness were great and the setting is lovely, the comfort and value for money did not fully meet expectations given the price.

Beautiful grounds, and exceptional host. Very friendly, comfortable, with a magnificent wood fire bbq and kitchen area. Cool off in the pool, enjoy the toucans from the indoor/outdoor kitchen.

Hele aardige eigenaren en heerlijk ontbijt! Mooie kamer, midden in de natuur. Veel faciliteiten waaronder een zwembad. De kat was ook echt een schatje!

Erg afgelegen, er is weinig in de buurt. Veel insecten in de omgeving/kamer maar dat was te verwachten op deze locatie.
