Onguma Forest Camp

The staff and facilities were beyond excellent. We cannot wait to return.

Lovely lodge in the forest in a private reserve which boarders Etosha. Very nice staff & good food. There is a water hole right by the restaurant area. A group of 5 elephants came to drink there while we were having breakfast which was amazing. We highly recommend the sundowner drive within the Onguma reserve. Our guide (Jason) was fantastic & very informative and we saw an elephant, lions and white rhinos. You get a lot closer to the animals than when you’re in Etosha and there are max 3 vehicles at any one place so it doesn’t feel too crowded.

The pictures of this place was beautiful, but the reality was better. We had 2 nights and 3 days here, and it exceeded our expectations. Food was great, view from lodge, room and service of the staff was amazing. We had 2 sundowner drives and one sunrise drive. Saw lots of animals, favourite was 2 big males roaring on a sunrise drive and 2 lionesses hunting on a sundowner drive. All drives we had was with other people, which just added to the fun. Since we wanted to go back with our families/kids next time in Namibia, we asked to see th Bush Camp as well. They obliged and got a guided tour of the camp and talk to the manager. Couldn`t ask for more and ended up eating lunch at the bush camp whick was also very beautiful. We had dik diks outside our bungalow many times and Go Away birds as well. Really enjoyed ourselves :)

Amazing design, very comfortable, staff was really profesional, attentive and food was exceptional. Game drive experience is luxurious and all activities where amazing. 10/10 Experience overall

The cabins are lovely and private. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Our first afternoon we had a Kudu walk by our door, very nice.

The location is fantastic and close to the Etosha gate. Elizabeth was a great host all through our trip and the staff was very polite and courteous. The waterhole is amazing with a variety of animals coming over during the day.

Rooms and bathrooms require some renovations.

Friendly staff, good service. Relaxing stay. Dinner is delicious. We saw four lions and three pairs of baby and mama giraffes during our morning game drive.

The setting is beautiful and its largeness permits privacy for each of the facilities!

Offhand, I would say - nothing!

Excellent architecture and planning meant that the three dining/bar areas; the fire pit and the pool all faced the water hole where animals came from dawn to dark. The food was very good especially cold cuts, salads and soups. The staff were delightful. It was very difficult to have no WiFi at all, NONE, during our 2 1/2 day stay. This lodge is one of five operated by the company inside their very own huge private game reserve. It shares fence with giant Etosha National Park. We toured half day inside Etosha but saw almost more wildlife inside Onguma. Rooms were so special, clean and old world design but all modern conviences. It was cold at night and staff put hot water bottles in each bed.

No wifi and price of drinks was bit too high. Manage Elizabeth compensated a bit for lack of WiFi and explained that the outage was not regular event.
