It is a novelty, but fun, and the place met expectations. The place is beautiful with a nice trail to a river and waterfall, ping pong and fusbol with a good breakfast. The night hike was fun helping us discover 4 types of frogs, lizards, spyders, bullet ant and a bird.

Unfortunately, we were greeted by a spider in our room too, but it was otherwise spotless. I would recommend the staff fix or replace the hammocks, as they are useless without the wood beams. Shower temp fluctuates with cold water pressure (flushes), but sufficient. Also, the stairs can get slippery when wet and need friction tape or something as I slipped a couple times this morning.

Great hotel, our cabin didn’t have WiFi and there was some sound from the road. Very nice staff, helpful and interested. We had a terrific day included night walk

The tree house frog was near the street. Car noises. Next time I would book more in land where it is more quiet.

Great place, forest, river, waterfall, wildlife, house in the trees, great staff and delicious breakfast! What more could one ask for? 😊 Fantastic place!

The staff at Tree Houses is WONDERFUL! Everyone is extremely friendly, easy to talk to, offering suggestions, advice, etc. Breakfast is absolutely delicious, served hot right out of the kitchen when the cook sees you sit down with your fresh fruit plate. My family went on the FREE night walk with the site guide Siller and saw frogs, armadillos, sloths, etc. Hands down, this place exceeded our expectations!

We LOVED our stay at the tree houses. It felt like a true experience being emerged in the rainforest. We stayed in the wood pecker room and it was AMAZING. We saw Tucans and lots of other wildlife and colourful birds from our treehouse. There was also a sloth by the breakfast area. Breakfast was the best we had in Costa Rica and all freshly made. The owners were wonderful. So friendly and caring. They even jump started our car when we accidentally left the lights on. They couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. DO THE NIGHT TOUR. Its incredible. We saw tree frogs, snakes, scorpions, spiders and more!

Our first night we spent in Tucan tree house which has a ladder up to children’s beds. we have 4 year old twins and we felt the ladder and height wasn’t safe. The owners moved us to a different tree house without a problem. They were lovely. This room would be great for older children

The staff were very friendly, caring and informative; they arranged several excursions for us which was extremely helpful, as they know who provides the best services in the area. We highly recommend the safari raft trip and the chocolate workshop. Breakfast was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to prepare what we each wished, and also did so earlier than their usual schedule so we could be on time for our early morning excursions. They served the sweetest pineapple! It was a fun adventure staying in the rainforest as we were surrounded by the sounds of nature. One morning a couple of large owls sat in nearby trees at eye-level off our balcony! We also really liked the night walk with Siller and saw a lot of wildlife--red-eyed tree frogs, scorpion, bullet ant, armadillo! Our laundry was done for us for a nominal fee which was wonderful. The drive from Florencia to LaFortuna is about a half hour and it's nice to be away from the touristy area and see more of the countryside along the way. The road is basically smooth and straight but local people ride bikes or walk it at night so best to avoid driving after dark.

We knew we were staying in the lower-priced treehouse which was closest to the road and the trucks were louder than we expected. In this particular treehouse the bathroom is very narrow which could be challenging for larger people. But it's a treehouse in a rainforest, a little rustic but very clean and even has a/c along with a small fridge and a safe--all the essentials.
