El Descanso

Sehr schöne Unterkunft. Freundliches Personal. Gemütliches Bett, heiße Dusche. Schon früh morgens viele Vögel und Agutis im Garten zum beobachten. Habe schon vor dem Frühstück meinen Kaffee bekommen.

Die Nachbarhunde haben teilweise nachts gebellt, aber da kann man nichts machen. Frühstück für mich etwas spät ab 8 Uhr (meistens wurde es dann noch später).

It was set in a beautiful garden full of birds especially hummingbirds.

At times I felt that the cleaning was more important than the guests!! A welcome drink would have been nice.

Wunderschöne Anlage mit einem sehr schönen Garten von dem aus man Kolibris und viele andere Vögel beobachten kann. Es ist sehr ruhig und entspannend. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Muy comoda estancia en Mindo. A pocas cuadras de la calle principal. El hotel es pequeño pero cómodo. La habitacion correcta y el baño tambien. El desayuno es bueno. Sorprende que siendo un hospedaje tan económico el resultado fuera tan bueno. Volvi nuevamente luego de mi primera estadia. Sin dudas regresare cuando vuelva a Mindo.

Breakfast was standard but filling. Having breakfast on a verandah overlooking the cultivated patch of cloud forest that is El Descanso’s backyard was singularly wonderful. It’s a nonstop living tapestry of hummingbirds, tanagers, doves, flycatchers and more, plus agoutis scampering on the ground. I can’t think of a better way to start the day than in Rodney’s backyard, with a cup of hot chocolate.

No complaints. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was hot.
