El Descanso

El jardín posterior es un pequeño paraíso lleno de aves. Cada mañana se desayuna junto a este hermoso bosque, donde se pueden observar colibríes, diversas aves y guatusos. El ambiente familiar que se respira lo hace aún más especial. Gracias Rodney por este lindo tiempo en tu hermoso hotel. The backyard is a little paradise full of birds. Every morning, breakfast is enjoyed beside this beautiful forest, where you can spot hummingbirds, a variety of other birds, and agoutis. The warm, family-like atmosphere makes it even more special. Tolle Unterkunft! Sehr leckeres vielseitiges Frühstück, sehr sauber, tägliche Reinigung des Zimmers, Moskitonetz vor dem Fenster, sodass nachts mit offenem Fenster geschlafen werden kann und immer eine frische Brise durchs Zimmer weht. Zur Hauptstraße von Mindo drei Minuten zu Fuß, Restaurants, Obstgeschäfte, Supermärkte alles in fünf Minuten erreichbar. Sehr ruhige Lage! Zimmer ist klein, aber für mich war es völlig ausreichend. Betten sehr bequem.Haus besteht komplett aus Holz, was zauberhaft aussieht. Das Beste ist die Frühstücksterrasse! Hier können sie den ganzen Tag verbringen und die Kolibris aus nächster Nähe an ihren Futterstationen beobachten. Herrlich!!!

The best part of this stay was the breakfast patio with the many hummingbirds flitting about, the several types of tanagers eating in the garden and the wild agoutis eating in the garden grounds. The property is natural, well made and comfortable. The host is friendly and helpful.

Lovely spot and kind staff. I was down with flu whilst there and if you are sick on holiday this is the place to chill and recover. The bird feeders meant seeing the little critters anytime.

The coffee.

Absolutely love the garden, there are lots of hummingbirds at the feeders, and even agoutis and squirrels running around. This place is super relaxed. The room is very clean and comfortable. Hot shower. Good toiletries. Good towels (including hand towel and bathmat). Lots of space in the room and hooks to hang things. Mosquito nets on the windows. Hammocks.

The shower temporarily went cold in a few times (but warmed up again). Would have liked to have breakfast slightly later because of early morning birdwatching tour.

Everything was great. The bed was comfortable, hot shower, good WiFi, the place is super clean, there are hammocks to chill on, (even some books to read), so many birds to see in the garden and agoutis, purified water available, delicious breakfast (eggs, bread, fresh fruit, coffee or hot chocolate, juice, cheese). In a great central, quiet area just a few blocks from the main street. The people working here are all really nice. Loved my stay here.

They have been supporting the bird population for 25 years and we saw over 20 species from the deck. It is such a relaxing way to enjoy the best aspects of Mindo. The accommodation is basic but excellent value for the price. Breakfasts were better than expected.
