Woodland Spruce Lodge

The location is beautiful, the lodge is clean and comfortable, however the real plus is the people - your hosts actively meet your requests and keep impressing.

Didn't know about extra charge for electricity

It was a convenient location for my race

The property had listed, a dishwasher, which wasn’t there, board games, which weren’t there, a ‘view’, which was our own car 🤷🏻‍♀️ now if these things weren’t listed it would of been fine but listing things that aren’t there is false advertising. My booking was for checking in at 4, but they then sprung on me that check in was 5 and said I couldn’t message them through booking.com, as they wouldn’t reply, personally I would like a record with booking.com of any correspondence. Also a woman turned up and said ‘how would you like to pay for your electric?’ There was no mention anywhere of paying extra for electric, this place just makes things up as they go! It was cheap and cheerful and if it wasn’t for all the lies in the listing I’d of probably been happy enough. Although the fridge smelled of mould and had it at the back of the shelves.

Everything was about money we need to pay extra for electricity we got there early and couldn’t get in for 2 hours because the cabin wasn’t ready but if we paid £20 it would be ready in 5 minutes

On a preference level, we felt the bed was very hard but the bedding was nice

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spruce Lodge. Cannot fault the place. Peaceful, quiet, loads of activities for the kids. The bigger lodges have their own designated BBQ areas, but we enjoyed setting up next to the summer house on one of the few picnic benches. The lodge itself was great, we couldn’t say a bad thing about it! It was clean, had everything we needed. The area itself is just 2min drive from Killin, close to Loch Tay - many walking routes around - suitable for all levels of activity, kids included. The host were very nice, trusting and made us feel very welcome! It is fair to say that I am already planning our return next summer hopefully!

Nothing at all. If I really had to be picky, Wi-Fi signal was patchy but this is to be expected in the rural area so more of a comment for others rather than something to complain about.
