"Clean and well presented stopover."

Very clean and located in the outskirts of the beautiful village of Killin. Excellent host. Very friendly.

Mid terrace location with no open view.

"Great location"

7.0

The location was great, loads to do compared to some lodges we have stayed at and the dog walk was great. The walk to Killin was also great. The walk up to the lawyers dam was also a good walk from the carpark for Ben lawers. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bed were very hard. I appreciate that this is personal preference and for everyone it's different. There was no dishwasher as per the description and the WiFi didn't work while we were there, which wasn't an issue for us as we had good signals on our phones anyway. Wasn't overly keen on the terraced style lodge as we could hear the people next door very clearly.

"Stay was basic and underwhelming."

5.0

The lodge had a nice location close to Killlin. There is a nice dog walk at the property area and a small children's play park.

The lodge is really basic and dated and needs a bit of an update. It felt quite cold and no relaxing feel to the place. The price is expensive for what you are getting. The lodge is advertised as dog friendly, but when in the lodge, there are signs all over saying you can not allow the dogs on the furniture, which is a bit frustrating. There is also quite a high extra charge for the dogs per night, plus you have to pay money per night towards the electricity so it all adds up. Check-in is 5 pm, and check out is 10am, these times are not great when having travelled far having to wait to 5pm to get in is not great. 10am check out felt like a rush too, not much time to enjoy. WiFi is advertised and is in the welcome pack, but it did not work. It didn't even show up on our phones as being there which was frustrating. The complimentary condiments (tea and coffee) are very basic and not impressive. Just felt like not much effort put into the place. Overall, our stay was fine, but nothing felt extra special or above and beyond, and we don't feel any reason to return.

"potentially a gold mine if , it’s sorted out"

great location

there was a gap of around an inch on the front door it’s all bowed , the cold air blew right through it , we put a cover in front off it the next night , the mattresses were like planks of wood , we came home a day early , Back was in bits

"So Cozy!!!"

9.0

The whole spruce Lodge had a cozy feel to it - although it was chilly outside the heating kicked in quickly. Freeview TV worked fine. Lovely selection of tea and coffee left out with some biscuits on arrival and owners were polite and chatty

Wifi was very patchy but most phone companies have reception out there so not a massive deal

"Locaton, location, location.."

8.0

We stayed in Cabin no7 (Spruce) and would say that for the price this is great value for money. We got a medium sized lodge for £95 a night (£90 a night and £5 a night electricity charge). I would say the photographs are quite misleading as they show photos of detached, secluded lodges, so obviously you expect this when you arrive, but they are not detached. They are a row of cottages with very thin walls. We were hoping for the shown secluded cottages as we have small, noisy children, so choose secluded lodges for this reason, and instead we had quite a stressful holiday trying to keep them quiet for 3 days - especially early in the mornings. Saying this, for the price it is a very good deal and would be perfect for groups or couples. Location was fantastic. Everything was great (but they really should update those photographs). There’s a lovely little BBQ area by an idillic wood and stream that would be a nice spot for sitting out on summer evenings. Also there’s a beautiful walk up the back, and it is very close to the Lawers mountain range, if you fancy something more challenging. A suggestion I would make is that instead of surprising guests with a Lyn electricity charge, why not just add it on to the cabin cost? £95 instead of £90 a night. I’m sure that would be much easier for the owners too.

Late check-In (5pm), early check-out (10am)

"Superb"

9.0

Nice woodland hut, nice place

Noisy people in next door, noise up to 00.30am. Unfortunately this lodge was detached from both side and on one side people had party. Just make sure you know that is detached. Not fault of management, just not lucky for this group.

"Bad time"

7.0

Good impression.

Hidden electricity costs 5 pounds per day. Extra fee for towels. Late check-in at the facility is only from 17pm In the bathroom a lot of dust and mold on the ceiling and in the place of the towel rail. Bad smell in the bedroom and mold on the ceiling as well as behind the headboard and dust. Still a persistent bad smell despite airing out the room. Outdoor kids activities in disrepair and little.
