Lack of staff

Nothing particular to like it .

We did not have breakfast, but did have dinner on our last night, and it was wonderful! The view from the rooms is breathtaking! The rooms were big, airy, clean, and very nicely arranged. The bed was big enough for two, with comfortable pillows and blankets. The TV was already set up with streaming apps and connected to the WiFi. The bathrooms were clean too. The geysers worked well; one suggestion: do not use the shower if you want a hot water bath. There are no words to describe the hospitality, Ms. Karma and her family, who run the place, are wonderful, kind, and cooperative people! She arranged for our trip to Nathu La pass including the permits and the vehicle. Unfortunately, we were held up by an unseasonal and unusually heavy snow storm, which rendered the roads defunct. The Indian Army stepped in and cleared the path for one vehicle at a time, and we reached the hotel after 9:30pm instead of the usual 3:30pm. Ms. Karma, even though she was out herself at the time, asked us what we'd like for dinner, ordered the items, paid for them, and arranged clean cutlery for our dinner! She arranged for our airport drop as well.

It is not about not liking it; rather a matter of preference. The hotel is about 1.6-1.8km from M G Marg; we enjoyed our walks to and fro, and got to see Gangtok up close! However, the city is very hilly and the roads can get steep, so walking is not for everyone, especially for the aged or those who have trouble walking steep inclines at relatively high altitudes. Cabs / taxis are available for people to travel to and from M G Marg. Also, this building does not have lifts, two flights of stairs have to be climbed to reach the reception and rooms. Did not hinder our stay in any way, but may not be true for larger groups.
