Sophienhof Lodge

We've stayed at Sophienhof Lodge for one night only and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is extremely calm and peaceful. We have also chosen to attend their safari and we very pleased by what we got to see (even though we knew it's not the best season for this). The dinner has been particularly delicious!

This is a marvellous place to stay. The accommodation and meals are first rate as is the opportunity to see the wildlife they have in the are that is provided. But the most important thing to note is how brilliant the staff are. One morning at breakfast it was noted we had a car tyre puncture. The staff took charge and dealt with the whole issue including removing the wheel, making a repair and replacing the wheel. All for no additional charge. This saved us a load of hassle and wasted holiday time that we could ill afford.

Das Personal war so unglaublich freundlich und das Essen war wirklich Family Style!

Wunderschöne Anlage mit viel Baumbestand und gewachsenen Strukturen. Es gibt 4 Doppelbungalows mit 8 sauberen, gut eingerichteten Zimmern. Kleiner Pool mit ausreichend Liegen und Handtüchern vorhanden. Sympathisches, sehr hilfsbereites Personal, außergewöhnlich gutes Essen. Cecilia, die Köchin, stellt das Menü abends auf Deutsch, Englisch sowie in der Klicksprache der Damara vor. Vegetarische Speisen sind kein Problem. Der Gamedrive über die riesige, tierreiche Farm ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Die abendliche Stachelschweinfütterung ist ebenfalls interessant.

The surroundings of the Sophienhof lodge were just beautiful, very quiet, beautifully designed. We had a very warm welcome from Willhelm, he looked after us perfectly while we were there. Willhelm organised a e-bike tour around the property which my adult son took, guided by Peter. My son says is was one of the best experiences of his life and Peter was also an amazing guide. I cannot recommend this Lodge more highly - in a great location if you want to go to Etosha but not stay at the government run property - plenty of animals roaming free, sympathetic surroundings, a fabulous meal (the chef was amazing) and the best staff. Highly recommend!

It was a perfect stay, nothing at all to comment on for improvement.

Large private reserve with great game drives. Close to Etosha (1hr). Good-sized clean rooms with aircon. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food - generous portions of buffet style and BBQ food. Freshly baked bread and home made jams were amazing.

Nothing - we enjoyed it very much.
