Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge

Acacia Hotel is in a very good location, by the Talek River and it is very convenient to take a hot air balloon in the morning. The room is spacious, bright, clean and tidy, equipped with emergency lights at night. The staff are super enthusiastic. As soon as we get off the car, they will hand us hot towels and drinks. The restaurant is my favorite, very good taste and there are many kinds of buffets. The desserts are quite delicious. It is even more interesting to book a bush dinner in advance. There is also a big antelope in the hotel, and you will see it leisurely walking by you. I highly recommend this hotel.

The environment and location is wonderful.just next to jw Marriott .The food is extremely good.The room is very big and clean

The staff is friendly, specially the guys at the bar and during dinner time. The hotel is mainly for mass tourism, so dont expect to be treated like someone special, food is average and location is out of the park but nor too far.

We organized with two months in advance an air balloon experience in the National Park, all this for a proposal. The day came and nothing was organized, manager of the hotel was a bit rude, and took us to place himself, booking a last minute air balloon and not doing anything remotely close to the things we organized in advance. We were late for about 90 minutes to the site, so sunrise was seeing from the ground (beautiful in any case, bacause is Mara National Park). I would never recommend this place. Please save an extra 350 US dollars and pick a better hotel. We ask for a fan the first day, it arrived the last day of our stay. We also ask for an adaptor, the didnt have one. There is an eland that everyone can pet, so it was like a zoo encounter.

I want to provide a fair review and will do my best to give an honest but frank overview. This place is outdates and caters to mass tourism. The rooms are run down, the place overall lacks any charm and the overall services is poor. A redeeming feature is the location which has an ice veranda overlooking the river.

The service of this place is poor. They are exceptionally hard to get in touch with. After organizing a surprise proposal on the hot air baloon - we were never picked up, the pilot had no clue we were doing something special. The lack of service essentially ruined a very important moment, without any remorse and a few apologies from the manager. We were never issued offical receipts - it was dodgy to say the least.

The staff were polite, good and willing to help Very humble employees . However we felt their hands were tied due to the management.

The food was catered only to particular community where the other nationalities were ignored. The catering should have been continental food so all could eat as we were not the only guests as there were many other nationalities . We had to complain so that we could have a proper meal for what was paid. The Chef took special interest and ensured we had our meals which was commendable. However this should not have been the case in the first instance. Secondly the pics on your site of the toilets and bathrooms are nothing what you see physically which are bad. There were problems of electricity and we had to shower and sleep the whole night in the dark and manage on our phone lights, which had to be restricted as we couldn't charge phones. No WIFI available in the lodges again your site says WIFI available which is wrong. Couldn't wait to leave this place. Would have booked another property for the same amount we paid.

Surroundings were very nice, staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and well laid out. Food was wholesome and tasty. Game drives are fun and great to see so many animals

The location is great and the staff is really friendly and helpful.

They got the price of the car wrong for the game drive, and then charged the whole price afterwards, without offering a commercial discount. Would have been great if they would have made a little gesture, considering that we had already paid and left, and they contacted us after to ask for more money...

The property is a true gem in the middle of the Masai Mara area.. it’s close to the gate but the roads are very bumpy so be ready for some action… it’s also close to Masai Mara village where you can spend an hour with the locals who live there.. the cottages are clean and equipped and give you the feeling of Masai Mara adventures. The food is also nice not much of variety but acceptable.. our waiter “Samson” is very friendly and helpful and so is everyone working there.

There are animals wandering around the campus like baboons, monkeys and Elands also some hyena arrive at night… There are guards and everything, I personally liked the experience but unless you a person who is so terrified of animals don’t go there.
