We liked everything about Hares Rest. The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.

Alli and Glynn have done an amazing job in making this place into such a beautiful accommodation. There is so much detail into making the hares nest as comfortable as possible. As soon as our little one walked through the door he was so excited that a bear was reading a book in ‘his bed’. We ordered the platter, I can highly suggest doing so, everything was super yummy. Alli went all out making cookies, bread, jam, chutney and more we would definitely rate hares nest a 10/10. Thanks again for having us.

We wanted somewhere to relax after a big day. We arrived to find an amazing welcome basket, that contained quality local goods as well as homegrown, home made goods. The homemade baking was welcomed. The setting is tranquil with the added bonus of the freedom to walk the acres of land, if you want. We wanted peace and quiet, and we found it!!!

We loved it and will definitely return ❤️

Host delivered a freshly baked gluten free loaf of bread - it was delicious! That was in addition to the breakfast supplies of bacon, sausages, free range eggs, pod coffee - best breakfast ever!
