We absolutely loved this venue. Super tranquil atmosphere with super friendly staff. The host was very attentive during our stay. We didn’t want to leave.

"Not good value for money"

Nice hiking trails, beautiful waterfall and braai area at the waterfall. An abundance of free wood. Owners were very friendly and approachable.

Outdoor shower has no privacy, large gaps in the fencing leaving you exposed, we had to hang towels to create screening. Towels were old and smelly. Entire place, including furniture was full of dog hair and not well cleaned. Two bedroom unit has a bar fridge only, which is a challenge for 4 people self catering for a number of days. We booked a unit with a tv and dstv to watch the Rugby World Cup, unfortunately the dstv didn’t work. Overall the property has roughly 20 + dogs, definitely a doggy heaven.

"Absolutely my new favourite vacation spot!"

The Magtree lodge is fantastic and really secluded and the surrounding nature and wildlife (giraffes!) is stunning. Loved the layout of the place and the kitchen had everything we needed too cook our meals. Really love the fact that the fireplace also doubles as a braai, for rainy days. Absolutely love the warm welcome from Craig and the recreational area. Love the fact that I didn't have to worry about getting wood for the braai and fireplace fire. While we were there on mostly rainy days, we made use of the splash pool which would come in really handy when you're visiting in the summer. Also dogs! If you love dogs, this is the place for you!

There's really nothing that I didn't like. Only suggestion would be to have an LED light above the stove to make cooking a bit easier, but other than that, everything was great.

"Great place in the heart of the lowveld"

Chris was such a friendly person to meet. Went out of his way to make us feel at home. Lovely wild life and plenty of birding. Toroughly enjoyed our stay. Facility is well maintained.

That the 2 days passed to quickly.

"Mayos getaway"

It was beautiful there. Lovely for our fur baby to be able to have the freedom to run around. We enjoyed the walks and the challenge of the 4x4. Definitely going back....asap.
