"Great location, excellent value for money"

We stayed "only" in the stables, with shared facilities, but in the end, staying on the castle grounds overnight outweighed the disadvantage of not having your own bathroom by far. Our room (family) was also very spacious. We particularly enjoyed the gardens with plenty of Tui. The castle dinner was a great experience! 8 pm session highly recommended.

While initially thinking it was expensive, then realizing it included so much,it was great value, exceptional location

Would have been good to be able to get dinner other than the banquet, or in room

"Lovely stay"

Wonderful place, the gardens are spectacular, staff were welcoming. Good set up with access via swipe card after 6pm. Breakfast was outstanding. Felt very special to be there after the day visitors had left. Listening to the birdsong in the evening in the garden was lovely.

We had two rooms booked in the Stables. One was great, roomy and comfortable and the other was tiny (fit a double bed and very little else.) The larger room would be fine for a longer stay but the smaller room would be awful to stay in for more than one night. Too small. We offered the larger room to the other couple travelling with us as it was a birthday celebration for one of them leaving us in the tiny room. (Note it is the same price for each room)

Awesome location and amazing views from our Lodge room, the grounds and castle. Fantastic breakfast included in our stay with lots of choice. Self-guided castle tour also included with our stay. Really interesting rooms to tour and fascinating history. Definitely recommend, especially for a special occasion.

Can't think of any improvements.

"Besonderer Ort. Kein Luxus, da Duschen und Toiletten nicht im Zimmer."

Frühstück super. Tolle Lage auf dem Schlossgelände. Schloss und Gelände im Preis mit inkulusive.Sandflybeach um die Ecke.

gbit nichts wesentliches zu kritisieren. Duschen sind zwar außerhalb des Zimmers, kann man jedoch abschließen.

Great Victorian vibe, magnificent gardens, wonderful breakfast and a superb pris fixed optional dinner menu. Short drive to Dunedin museums and shops

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the dinner in the castle was amazing, we loved the experience, thanks for everything. Oh and breakfast is outstanding.
