We opted for a morning walk instead of the free breakfast, along the beautiful beach. What a awesome lodge, this place is amazing in every way, a wonderful building thats been meticulously restored by Simon. The grounds are set out to draw you to the beach & are very tastefully set out & well maintained. We loved our short stay & look forward to staying alittle longer next time...

Wow, what an amazing place, it has everything you need for a great stay. Loved the location, the history and quirkiness of the building, sitting on the balcony and the kitchen facilities are second to none. The garden and the views are why you come to New Zealand

I like a firm mattress but there really isn’t much to dislike here. It’s a place I’ll always remember.

Amazing lodge with great modern facilities. The backyard that backs up to the beach and ocean was just utterly perfect!

There was nothing to dislike about this place. It was a perfect getaway.

This is a one-off -- exceptionally comfortable for 6 adults and four children (and dog), with brilliant grounds extending right to the beach, and brilliant equipment (for example, TWO wood-fired hot tubs, one at the beach) -- everyone thought it was perfect.
