The Ghost Lodge

Such a beautifully restored lodge, clean comfortable, plenty of space both inside and outside. Was perfect for our family group of 12! Lovely location with the beach right at the edge of the backyard and gorgeous outdoor space to relax and enjoy the sunset!! Rooms are large, peaceful and comfortable, well equipped kitchen too! Had pretty much everything we needed.

Awsome place! Friendly host. Direct access to beach. All you need is there, really clean and beautiful lodge.

A gem, location awesome right on the beach. Laid back, B&B type atmosphere. We had an ensuite room, but some are shared bath.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

The lodge exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely gorgeous, the beds were super comfy, the house was incredibly clean and tidy (despite the host being on crutches!). Super friendly host and gorgeous dog. We were able to bring our dogs which is always a bonus. Super easy access to the beach. The views are amazing, definitely recommend going down to the boulders and watching the sunset on a clear evening. We will definitely be back

Fantastic building that has been superbly renovated with style and sympathetic to creating a historic conversion. Exceptional location right on the wild west ocean, gorgeous ocean views from the end of the garden and the upper balcony Friendly and helpful host whom lives in adjacent property so available if needed. Huge property, well proportioned, lots of space and even a pool table in the second lounge. For a few extra dollars they will light a hot tub with ocean views or even try the sauna. This really was a magical little find in a very special area. Could not fault it in any way.

Wanted to stay longer, only had one night as we had to be elsewhere next day. We really wanted to watch the ocean sunset from the hot tub.

Loved to location and the beach view patio at the top of the garden. Simon was a great host and Guy was great at providing information and helping out. The property is very roomy and the upstairs living area is a treat! Bedrooms are large and bathrooms good. Tea/coffee, milk, Toast, cereals, etc, all provided. It is a way outside Westport so take what you need to eat for evenings with you. Had we have know the location was this good (on a great beach), we would have had more than one night. Just a great place. We also had a great not with the locals at the Lyric theatre watching an India meets Ireland fusion group. Not quite our cup of tea but non the less, great to be in with the locals. Lovely, friendly place.

Could do with new pillows on the bed but that's probably because I'm used to big pillows at home.

The place is beautiful, cleanest I've seen & the owners are absolutely fantastic. You could never go wrong with the hot tubs & sauna, its a must stay place & I will certainly be going back.

I liked everything about the place. Quality, Style & Atmoshere are second to none. Sunsets to die for & a beautiful beach to walk on..

What an awesome place to stay! The live version is even better than the fotos. I've extended my stay after the 1st night, opted for day trips to Karamea and Punakaiki so I could return here in the evening. Go for a swim, a stroll on the endless beach, enjoy the sunset - just soak this place in and try to stay more than 1 night. I hope to be back some day...
