Lagganlia Lodges and Camping Pods

I liked the location. Friendliness of staff (Kirsti) who was so kind and lovely, went out her way to leave a little b/day gift on the porch of our cabin while we were out for the day for our child’s b/day. I loved that it had a washing machine too and a clothes horse to sit the clothes outside to dry. Very handy. Overall really did enjoy the space in the ptarmigan lodge.

Be mindful with summer time heat and horseflies, was a swarm of them on us when using the hot tub. The beds aren’t comfy, so hard and couldn’t sleep well the 2 nights we were there. First night my partner and I were woken up through the night to a really loud Bang (like a door slamming). We both ran to the kids room to check thinking they’d fallen out the bed but they were still tucked up and sound asleep. No other explanation to why this bang was so loud and where it came from. Second night we were woken at 2.30am to the loud bang again (checked kids, not them). I couldn’t sleep after that and stayed up watching tv and the loud door slamming bang happened again, i was very scared at this point when I checked kids and my partner heard it to in the bedroom. All doors are fire doors which do bang when left to swing shut but during the night no one is awake when these bangs happen. Very confusing. Maybe the loft needs checking.

Perfect size, ideal for a weekend away. Only a 15-minute drive to most things in aviemore. Hot tub was on 24/7 and easy to use. Beds were clean. Wifi was good. Water was hot whenever you needed it. Definitely recommend.

More spare floor towels and bath mats would be good. Loud fire doors, so was hard not to wake people up.

really peaceful, clean, big Lounge area. great staff who greeted us.

boiler was dodgy. water was still cold after being on. staff did state they had got it fixed but this may still need addressing as did not get warm.

We (my 6 year old and I) stayed in the pods, they are clean and tidy. The pods are as advertised basic, the benches are not the biggest but once I figured out the best way to lie I slept all night no issues. The kitchen and toilet/shower block is immaculate and such a great addition to the pods. The surroundings are just gorgeous- we visited early May and no issues with Midgies at all!
