Lagganlia Lodges and Camping Pods

Beautiful location and well equipped clean lodges, quiet, hassle free and plenty of space. We were there with friends, all of us with young kids, and it worked very well. The website gave a good description of the facilities. We stayed in Anderson Lodge which in fact has more sleeping space than advertised. I'd seen 10 or 11 online but it actually sleeps 12, as one of the 4-bed bunkrooms is really a 5 (with a double on the bottom of one of the bunks). So it had rooms of: 5, 4, 2 and 1-bed. The 1-bed is the room that leads to the hot tub patio. Very good for Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Insh, Landmark Forest Adventure Park, and Aviemore. Booking team very friendly and responsive.

The lodges are functional rather than luxury in terms of furnishing (though hot tub definitely a luxury!) - they have a slightly institutional/hostel style feel, with strong door closing fire safety things for example (I believe they are a schools residential site during the week). But I think that is evident from the description and pictures on the website and it was what we were expecting. I don't mean this negatively, it was more in case anyone hasn't looked closely at what they are booking

The wash facilities were lovely and were quite clean but it would be better if they left a brush in there for mud etc as you're getting out of the shower onto a muddy floor. The pods are a really good idea, about as close to wild camping as it gets as it's basically just a wooden tent. Really cheap so good value. Loved the location.

The sleeping bench is not ideal for anyone taller than 5"6 ish. My partner is 6"1 and was very cramped and uncomfortable and barely slept. The pod wasn't cleaned very well, there were a lot of spiders and cobwebs. There was a dustpan and brush in there so we brushed them away ourselves.

Location was nice. We booked camping pods so had access to no other facilities.

Hillend Lodge was very clean on arrival & more spacious than I expected, pictures don’t do the size justice.

knew the pods would be small but for 2 adults the pod beds were not big enough for us to even lie in so we didn’t actually stay here.

The camping pod was suitable for kids or small adults. For a guy of my size the beds are just too narrow. Not your fault but there was more midgies than anyone can handle!
