Kein Grund für Punktabzug, aber ggf relevant für manche: man ist abseits, man braucht also für alles ein Tuktuk, welches etwa 2500LKR für hin und zurück mit Warten des Fahrers kostet. Die Türen in der Unterkunft gehen sehr schwer auf und zu und sind auch laut. Das Bad ist draußen, man wird also von Geckos, Fröschen, etc gerne mal besucht.

The food was À la carte and pretty good. Away from noice of the city, frenly staff, open grounds. I was given a quite a big family room up on stilts and had to climb a stair case through a Koon tree. My kids loved it and the environment was clean in a middle of a small Mango, Guava and lime plantation among other plants. It is quite clos to Sigiriya (Not walking distance but close if you are traveling by your own vehical) I did not join but there are cooking lessons for foreigners as well as local if you like to get your hands dirty and eat your own cooking, but its all about local cuisine for a fare price.

We verbleven 3 nachten in Rock Shade chalet en hebben er enorm van genoten van de rust en natuur op deze locatie! De accommodatie is perfect inorde. De kamers zijn ruim en netjes. Ook het zwembad en de tuin zijn piekfijn verzorgd. Het eten is er heerlijk. Het personeel is super vriendelijk! We hebben goed met hen gelachen en ze zijn zeer behulpzaam. Zeker aan te raden!

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Lasantha, the manager was exceptionally helpful in finding a driver at the last minute. Beautiful friendly staff. Accommodation was one of a kind.....tree house experience, open air bathroom and viewing platform to Lion rock. As we were leaving, the hosts presented my husband with a birthday cake and sing song for his 60th birthday.....a beautiful touch. Thank you so much!

A little further away from town centre than expected. Thought we could walk....not so. No bother though .....driver took us everywhere.

Overall enjoyed our stay here, staff was very friendly and hospitable special thanks to Mr Lasantha who helped in arranging fun activities as well. We were also given a free upgrade to a family chalet.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Rock Chalet and would recommend it 100%! From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. The staff took great care of us throughout our stay and made us feel truly at home. A special mention to Lashanta, who went above and beyond, he was incredibly kind and even took the time to accompany us to the starting point of a hike, which we really appreciated. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained. The pool is simply incredible, perfect for relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The whole hotel has a very calm and serene atmosphere, ideal for unwinding and recharging. The food was also delicious, with great quality and variety. Everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience, we would definitely come back!

We reizen 33 dagen door Sri Lanka en deze plek is tot nu toe onze favoriet. We genoten enorm van de vogels om ons heen. Er heerst zo’n heerlijke rust hier. Je hoort alleen de natuur. De bedden zijn fijn, de buiten douche een heerlijke ervaring en het eten fantastisch!! Het personeel is super vriendelijk en doen er alles aan het je naar de zin te maken. De uitstapjes waren goed geregeld.

Une expérience mémorable dans la jungle. Animaux sauvages, éléphants, paons, etc.. mention spéciale pour notre voyage de noces avec des petites attentions très touchantes <3
