Percy Wood Lodges with Hot Tubs

Location. Visited last year.

Misled by advertisement on Booking.com ended up booking wrong unit. Expected a few faults but have submitted a substantial list which was very disappointing which and contributed to low score

The lodge is located in a secluded little cul de sac part of the area so it was really quiet when I stayed, no cars driving past etc. It is really well presented inside, so cosy and it has everything there that you would need. We loved it as a break away and have booked to come again.

The property is pet friendly which is great, the only thing to note is the hot tub area isn’t gated - so if you are bringing your dog, it is just something to note. I took a long leash when packing, so I just tied this to the patio area so that I knew he was safe and not roaming around outside of the area :)

The location itself was peaceful and the surrounding nature was lovely, which made it even more disappointing that the lodge didn’t meet the same standard of care or attention as the area around it, excluding the Percy Wood Holiday Park.

The lodge didn’t match the photos on description. The coffee machine and oven didn’t work, even though the advert specifically mentioned a coffee machine and asked guests to bring their own coffee pods , which we did, spending £10 on pods that couldn’t be used. The place wasn’t properly cleaned (dust, cobwebs, dirty edges everywhere), and the on-site restaurant and bar were closed during the week. The whole site felt tired and neglected. We reported this after our stay and their reply was polite but generic (“I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay...etc”) and no compensation was offered for the misleading information, despite clear evidence. We didn’t contact anyone during our stay because we booked a short, peaceful break and didn’t want to spend it dealing with maintenance or cleaning visits that should have been done beforehand. Unfortunately, detailed photos showing the issues couldn’t be uploaded here, which feels like an unfair limitation on honest reviews.
