Nirvaan Safari Lodge

We couldn’t fault Nirvaan Safari Lodge and had a fantastic 2 night stay. The food was amazing, all cooked to order with delicious vegetable, chicken and fish curries. The setting is idyllic away quite far from the road next to a paddy field. Lots of birds and insects to see. The biodiversity meant there weren’t many mosquitos too! The tents have everything you need. They aren’t big but they are comfortable with a spacious bathroom attached and a nice balcony to sit at. Ranil and his team really looked after us and their service is great. Our safari to Wilpattu was amazing and organised by the lodge. We saw leopard, bear, monkeys, three types of deer, crocodiles and many beautiful birds. The naturalist was a fountain of knowledge and made the day really special. Thank you for a great stay.

Beautiful boutique safari lodge. The individual attention and a caring team made us feel very special. Secluded, overlooking paddy fields. Delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food. Ranil and his team undertook one of the largest study of Sloth Bears so they know a thing or two when it came to the safari. We spent a day ticking off the most wonderful array of wildlife. We were here as a family and couldn’t be more happy.

Really nice staff, a cold towel and tasty juice on arrival. They also packed us a great breakfast to take on our safari, which was nice since we left at 550am. The room was clean and we found it to cool off enough overnight to have a good sleep.

Food is about double what you will pay in other parts of Sri Lanka, but the location is quite remote so this is somewhat understandable.

Quiet and private. Close to National Park. Next to paddy fields and short walk to lake. Lovely atmosphere

Staff were lovely, but communication was difficult. Expected more considering cost. No cooking on site, so breakfast was poor. Dinner was ordered in, so it was good. Safari information was confusing, so we went on a half day and only saw birds and deer. Told when we got back, we should have done a full day. Cold shower and only portable fan

The staff here are amazing.   We are driving a tuktuk and it broke down,  they helped to get us started and to a garage.  Very kind people. The camp is beautifully done.  The tents are spacious and well equipped.   Two big comfy bed  and a great fan.   The bathroom is outside and also will appointed. The viewing platform is a good addition,  and the dogs will join you.  The lady in reception and at mals is very professional and friendly.    She told us how to walk to the nearby lake to see wonderful wildlife.   Its only a short walk.   The food was brilliant too.   They arranged a private safari with naturalist and this was also amazing.    We will come back 100%

Simple but clean rooms in an idyllic setting. The sound of the forest around you is incredible! We throughly enjoyed our day safari to Wilpatu with both our guide and driving being excellent at spotting wildlife. The treehouse was a fun place to spend some time.

The food was hit and miss with ‘grilled’ seeming to be incinerated but the curries were good. With just a single stand up fan in the tent/hut was were very hot and we didn’t sleep very well. Our fan actually broke and despite our explanation that we did not ourselves break it, we were charged $25 on checking out.

One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The people working at the lodge are so nice, the food is very good and the tent is beautiful. The surroundings are so peaceful. We did a safari with Ranil and it was amazing. He knows a lot about Sri Lankan wildlife and our safari could not have been better! Thank you for this amazing stay!
