Nirvaan Safari Lodge

This place is incredible value for the money. I stayed in a similar luxury concept in Yala for 10 times the price and Nirvaan has nothing to envy. The staff couldn’t be kinder. The owner runs a couple of conservation projects and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to wildlife. The food is simply excellent always a lot of food, Varied and always local. We had some of our best meals there. The team also serves breakfast and lunch if you go for a safari and its great. The rooms are spacious and safe, you will feel like you really are in the jungle and will not have any bugs or mosquitoes inside. Dinners by the fire with a started night are also some of the best memories I will have from this trip. All in all incredible value for money and will come back again soon.

If I had to say something, not enough plugs and lights. But the place was new when we went.

From the very beginning the communication with the host was seamless, they made sure we find the location and picked us up with a jeep where the road started to be too rough for a normal car. The whole experience was amazing, my spider enthusiast son found a soulmate in Ranil, a conservation biologist who runs the place while engaged in fascinating research projects. The food was always freshly made and delicious, the tent was comfortable with beautiful surroundings. As a special treat, Ranil's dad joined us on our safari and shared his wealth of knowledge about the anilmals in Wilpattu National Park, including the leopard couple we spotted on a tree. Thank you for the amazing experience, we felt like we were part of the family.

Very peaceful location with wonderful staff. The night skies were beautiful and everything was organised very well. We even spotted a leopard on our safari trip. Would definitely visit again!

The location was perfect with beautiful view of the paddy fields and the rising sun! the food was awseome and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed here a couple of nights, with our 3 little kids (2, 4 & 6 years old), and we all LOVED it! On arrival there was a colouring book and games for the kids! The owner is very friendly, and has a lot of knowledge regarding wild life. He arranged a nice safari for us to Wilpattu, and also arranged a very nice lunch in the national park. The tent experience is great, the bathroom is super clean, and also has a rainshower. If you are lucky you can see wild elephants right in front of your safari tent. It's amazing to wake up in the middle of nature and the breakfast in the restaurant was so nice. The safari lodge is very close by the Wilpattu National park entrance (2 km).

That we had to leave after 3 days 😉 We definitely come back!
