Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa Makhato Lodges

Nice facilities and unit, just need some maintenance .

Unit where we have stayed in had electricity issues with power that kept on tripping when stove and oven was on. Maintenance team had to come and fix bathroom lights Smell of Sewage as drains was blocked.

Lovely for family especially kids .Alot to do for the kids. Nice atmosphere and heated pool a bonus . The house is quiet and animals come near by.

The property is a good size. Fit our family quite nicely. Liked the fact that animals walk through the property. Had kudu, zebras, warthogs and even some mongooses. Kids loved that

A bit dated. And I think there’s an owl that nests on the roof so found it hard to sleep at night. It’s the wild so can’t do much about that.

The lodge was full of dust - even the linen The linen was not clean at all. No fresh linen was provided The lodge need maintenance - we noticed the owner wanted to sell the lodge ... Alot of bugs were in the beds :-( The drain was block and the smell went into the main bathroom

The property was nice and spacious with an authentic lodge look.

A little bit outdated, the bathrooms especially, bathtubs look a bit dirty, no mirrors above the sink. But overall in good condition.

Accommodation was secluded and comfortable.

The dishwasher needed updating.

The accommodation and game reserve was stunning. We enjoy self driving and saw ample animals (zebra, giraffes, wildebeests) each time we ventured out. The room itself was amazing and had nearly everything we needed.

The restaurant closed at 4.30 on Monday to Thursdays, which wasn't a big deal for us as we only went in for a drink and ice cream... it would be nice if it was open a bit later, but I can completely understand why it was closed.
