Chargo Boutique Lodge

A wonderful stopover. Loved the history of the farm. We were welcomed on arrival by Anika and we felt at home immediately.

We loved this off-the-beaten-path hotel! It's an isolated game reserve but it was exactly what we were looking for—quiet afternoons and evenings in simple but beautiful surroundings. We had sundowners on the patio of our bedroom, watching springbok a hundred meters from us. Our bedroom was huge, with clean linens and an en-suite bathroom. The dinner was amazing, and equally so was their dinner and breakfast. The service was excellent, and the hotel itself, though not fancy, offered amazing service and paid attention to the smallest details that contributed to our overall comfort. We would definitely return!

Chargo Boutique Lodge is a perfect halfway stop on a journey to the Cape, conveniently located 30km outside of Colesburg off the N1. The peaceful setting, pool, and tasty home-cooked meals made for a relaxing stay. The rooms were beautifully decorated, with super comfortable beds. It's also pet-friendly, which was a bonus. The honesty bar was a nice touch. I was so sad to leave—wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommend!

The lodge is located on a beautiful farm and is not too far from the main room, yet it feels remote. The lodge is a beautiful old house.

For the price I paid for the family room I didn't not expect to have to talk over the corridor to get to our bathroom so therefore not ideal from a privacy perspective. The food was also ok, not fantastic. I do like animals but it is important that guests know that this is a dog friendly lodge - I was a bit concerned about the cleanliness and it felt like every guest there had a dog.

Our room could not lock from the outside. there was no lock on the door, only a sliding lock on the inside. so we could not lock the door when we left the room.

We were met by Samantha who made us feel right at home. The cottage was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. All ameneties were available and the food was delicious.
