Denali Fireside Cabin & Suites

We booked the family bungalow and were very happy with the facilities! We got in late (around 11:30 pm) and the owner stayed up to help guide us to the cabin (it’s about 2-3 miles away from the main office). The cabin itself was just perfect! Tucked back in the woods, it gave a true “Alaskan” feel - no wifi, no cable - just unplugged and relaxed. It was a simple, but clean and comfortable stay! We would absolutely stay here again!

There’s a lovely breakfast place almost right next-door. He is pretty much in town so you just can park and walk anywhere. It’s a cute little town to visit. I know there’s a lot of float plane rides, and things like that if that is what you’re interested in. We only stayed one night but had a great time.

The River Cabin was very nice-the yard is like a park and we enjoyed watching a yearling moose wade across the pond. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was very clean.

The location is too far to walk into Talkeetna (In fairness, we were warned when making the reservation). Due to the dry conditions, the road was dusty. If you want a private get-away and plan to mostly stay at the cabin, I'd highly recommend. We are older, and the upstairs bedroom/downstairs bathroom was not ideal for us needing to use facilities in the middle of the night.

Our fault booked cabin in woods was 3 miles on gravel track. So should have stayed in town. Cabin was so peaceful. Was told no propane- so have us 2 electric heaters- not ideal but weather was great so was ok. Gorgeous cabin.

Remote for us. No washer.

Don was very accommodating and gave us a tour of the small town, hitting on local spots to hang out. His staff also were very friendly.
