Unawatuna Backpacker Lodge

Very kind host and fantastic breakfast. The room is super clean and very comfortable. Also the wildlife right next to the property is amazing. You can see monkeys and other different kind of animals.

We loved our stay here. Was the perfect set up for our family with use of the outside kitchen to cook our children’s food. Great location, just tucked away off the main strip. We loved feeding the monkeys from the balcony!

The bathroom in one of the bedrooms smelt of sewage which wasn’t pleasant!

The couple running this place are lovely, shower is decent but try to get the air conditioned rooms, the one closest to the sink on the top floor. Breakfast is varied and the location is great.

Wifi wasn't great for streaming or video calls but hotspot to your own dialog sim. This place is so cheap and the value for money is immense so poor WiFi doesn't and shouldn't matter.

The stay was great.

Some roof construction and the internet went in and out. The owners were very pleasant and apologetic, although they offered no discounts. The kitchen is shared with others.

There were repairs and workers, it was somewhat uncomfortable, the water in the shower did not drain, the floor had the wrong slope. Therefore, minus two points

Nice Place, really friendly and helpful Owners! Great breakfast! The Location is directly in the center of Unawatuna so it’s near to the beach and also the main road. The room has everything you need.

We loved our stay here! We were welcomed by the friendliest of hosts, he was such a nice man and very helpful! The room was very big, clean and comfortable. Fantastic breakfast, the host put in a lot of effort to make our stay extra special. The room was surrounded by nature, such a beautiful place to stay! Can highly recommend!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Location was perfect, just off the street with all the restaurants and bars that leads down to the beach. Host was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Room was spacious. Balcony was nice.

Found a cockroach in the bathroom, can't be avoided always but still unpleasant. Bathroom took a while to drain after shower, meaning wet floor.

Service are superb and yours food also very good keep it up
