Cooker stunk of fat kitchen area could do with updating

Location is lovely, quiet site most of the time with a lovely restaurant on site. Northumberland zoo less than a 5 minute drive away too which is great fun :)

We booked this lodge expecting a comfortable and welcoming experience, based on the appealing images online. Upon arrival, the lodge was satisfactory, aside from a noticeable stain on the carpet and damaged kitchen cupboard doors. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my partner was unable to join me, and instead, four family members accompanied me and our dog. We acknowledge that we did not register the additional guests and dog on the booking, assuming it wouldn't be an issue given the lodge's capacity to sleep six. However, it became apparent that our party was being watched, as the owners contacted us regarding the number of guests and the presence of a dog. While we take responsibility for failing to update the booking, we found the owners' approach to be impolite. Had the owner have been a bit nicer about the situation, we would have offered straight away to pay any extra fees. Additionally, the owners mentioned potential extra cleaning charges, which contradicts previous reviews stating that dogs are allowed without additional fees. Therefore quite misleading. Also, the lack of a gate on the decking area makes the lodge less “Dog Friendly” anyway, constantly having to block the gap with the decking chairs so our dog didn’t escape. Then our dog jumped on the hot tub cover, but we promptly intervened and got her down, yet this incident was immediately reported to the owners and we received a message about this also, reinforcing the feeling of being watched. This constant surveillance we felt we were under made the remainder of our stay to be quite unpleasant. We attend this holiday park frequently, trying a different lodge each time and have never had any issues until now. From reading other reviews, it seems that another family have previously had the same problem with the owner of this lodge and the misleading information given when booking. Overall, our weekend here was disappointing, and we will not be returning to this particular lodge.

Location fabulous for piece and quiete away from the hustle and bussle of work Wildlife ama,zing would recommend if u want total relaxation Hot tub well maintained staff where their every day to clean it

Unfortunately the pictures of the lodge must have been taken a good few years ago Oven was unusable due to the amount of dirt and grime in it shower had black mould around the base which could have been easily replaced It just needs some TLC to get it back up to standard in saying this the surroundings made up for it.

Quiet and peaceful site. The lodge was very clean and comfortable. Lovely lake to walk the dog and great bar ( Crazy Horse Saloon)which served good food.

Unusually, there was no information/welcome pack. Otherwise no problem.

Clean and comfortable lodge with everything we needed (and they really had thought of everything! 😊). Lovely setting and ideal location to explore Northumberland. Hot tub was well maintained and a lovely to relax in.

The lodge was lovely overall, good location, quiet site and comfortable big space!

The lodge was unclean when we arrived, with worn socks down the side of a bed, used hairnbobbles in the bathrooms and just generally could have done with more of a deep clean, especially in the kitchen and shower areas there was an old/used wash sponge hanging in one of the showers

Nice and clean, great size( there were 5 of us)great location and a hot tub plus dog friendly.

No gate on decking so could not let dogs out there, could do with an air fryer.

The hot tub, stream views, nice, warm and cosy. Everything needed was provided.

It could do with some updating in the kitchen. The decking area was not very well lit.
