"Shepherds Hut"

Great location and close to local attractions

The walk up the hill after going out for food and drinks. Definitely for younger people.

"Nice but very overpriced, worth about £50-60 a night, not £100+"

6.0

The view was great and it was in a nice quite village and it was clean

The room was very small, the bed folded out with a massive gap where the pillows where, the pillows where super thin as well, no toilet roll when we arrived, the BBQ grate was rusty and I had to clean it myself, as well as buy all the fuel for the BBQ - bare in mind this is over £100 a night, you can find better value elsewhere, it is very expensive for what it is and me and my partner where shocked

"Superb"

9.0

The hut is very clean and organised inside, it was also more spacious than anticipated. The location is beautiful and very scenic, as well as being a short walk away from the centre of the village which has some lovely cafes, restaurants, bakeries and an outdoor shop, as well as good transport links. The owners were very accommodating and quick to sort out any issues we had during the stay, such as supplying a fan as the hut gets quite warm during the summer.

If you are on foot with heavy bags the hut is up quite a long steep hill (although that is kind of expected in the peak district!). Just something to consider if you have any mobility issues and don't drive etc. The kitchen equipment supplies were really good, but some more pots and pans would have been helpful when cooking. Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely come back.

"Incredible place, perfect for short stays and many walks."

9.0

Incredible view in a compact hut able to facilitate our needs. Well kept and in a prime location for many great walks and not too far from the centre of town.

We went when it was particularly hot and the hut can warm up quite quickly which can be a little uncomfortable especially when trying to sleep.

A tranquil and idyllic setting with sweeping views of the Hope Valley in the High Peak District. A 30 minute hike up the steep incline to Win Hill with 360 degree views and convenient access to the nearby iconic Dark Peak sites of Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.

"Lovely location, great hosts, average price, not keen on the septic tank smell!"

7.0

The property was was wonderful and the price was ok. The place was lovely, well presented, lovely location on the hillside over looking the Peaks. I'm not one to visit a place twice as I feel there are so many places to visit in such a short time. Sophie was great, good communications, let us check in early if we wanted but we were half way up a mountain and let us check out early to enjoy the morning views and a lay in which went down well with my partner! All in all I would definitely recommend this place.

The downside for us was that you could smell the septic tank when outside and with such beautiful surroundings that is what we wanted to do. The weather wasn't great so we stayed in so it wasn't a problem that time. The weather was chilly and raining and you could still smell the tanks so god knows what it would be like in the summer!!! Maybe we jus had a bad day with the smell. The road to the actual unit was terrible too, full of pot holes and deep ones at that, not suitable for many cars especially with low profile tyres, all it needs is a bit of hardcore and packing down.
