Lilly's Lodges Orkney Butterfly Lodge

Lovely view, great location.

The list of don’ts and warnings was quiet long and didn’t make us feel welcome especially as there was no personal contact during our 2 day stay that could soften the communication.

It was lovely and in a beautiful location.There was plenty of room for us both and everything we needed was in it.

The lodge is very nice and clean, in a quiet place with a lovely view. We could often use the garten table outside. It is very well supplied for 4 persons, a prime example of glamping. I confirm that the lodge is made for max 4 persons. I would go back there.

The tabletop of a very cheap folding table inside the lodge was completely loose. Since we never met the landlords we couldn't tell them about the problem. We tightened all the screws ourselves. We didn't change the bulb on the wall lamp that never worked though- somehow not our job to check the premises. But still I would go back there.

Very well equipped and cleverly designed pod, which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Lots of nice touches, clearly a lot of care has gone into the set up.

The cottages were perfect, and a great value for a family of four, we didn’t even feel too cramped, because we really love the concept of tiny living. :-) The location was awesome, views of water in front of you and lush green hills dotted with sheep behind. I will say, though, I was a little nervous as we drove up to the place on rough roads in the middle of nowhere, but it was like a paradise, really!

I would say the only thing I didn’t like was not something I expected really, just something I really wished for, a nearby laundry facility... There appeared to be one and I thought “oh thank goodness, we haven’t done our laundry in over a week and we have just done a lot of hiking and we’re running out of clothes that don’t stink!” But it was locked and I think it was only for the use of the cleaning staff and owners. I think it would be a wonderful perk to have it available to guests of the cottages as well!
