Sanna Eco Lodge

The staff were kind. The garden was lovely and rooms were comfortable. The pool was clean and good, but there were no cushions on the metal sun loungers. One felt very secure in the property.

Breakfast was very very slow and it was difficult to get coffee. There were no hooks in the room to hang your towel, clothes or wet swimsuits. There was so little light that you could not read a book after dark. There is quite a lot of nocturnal noise, dogs barking. The access road is almost impossible for a car so allow an extra/ 20min when coming from the middle of Arusha.

We are very disappointed. This lodge may have been good a few years ago but now it is neglected. Especially for the expensive price. There was no hot water and the pool was not maintained. If we wanted to eat something she suggested one dish. Then we also had to wait a long time. The road to the lodge is in very poor condition and is also a real test for the back. The only positive thing is that the staff (e.g. Faith) is friendly and it is not their fault because they do their best.

Sanna Eco Lodge is so much more than just a place to sleep. It's a beutiful lodge with a wonderfull little garden... always very clean.... the staff is extremely helpfull, humouross and friendly.... Food is great.... especially breakfast. We simply lost our hearts to this place and to the little village and the people there. We are coming back, for sure.

Please upgrade lightning on the path down towards the rooms. A little bit dangereous when dark.

Sehr sehr liebes Personal, ein Riesen Service. Jeder Wunsch wurde umgehend erfüllt. Es war einfach sehr sehr sehr schön.

An der Unterkunft gibt es nicht zu kritisieren. Falls es ein Problem gibt, wird es vom Personal behoben. Uns wurde auch bei unserem Problem geholfen, was gar nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun hatte. Sorry bei Foto Aussenbereich bin ich abgerutscht bitte löschen

The garden and swimming pool. They were amazing. just as they appear in the pictures. A little taste of paradise amongst a local area. Lovely to stray outside too and chat to the locals. We even went to 2 church service. The bungalow was basic and clean and just as expected. The food was excellent . The chips were to die for. The veggie curry excellent and the breakfast- fantastic. The food just kept coming. They made us a breakfast box the day we left as it was v early. The staff were also fantastic and really helpful. It really was a little bit of paradise walking distance from town

The location up a hill with the bumpiest road I’ve ever seen. on arrival we had a 4x4 but I was initially worried how we would be able to get a taxi back from town if we walked in. Discovered cars, taxis tuk tuks all brave the road. I had read the road was bad in reviews but didn’t appreciate how bad!!! Immediately on arrival we were asked if we wanted dinner. They had no menu or price list so difficult to decide. We asked what was on the menu- answer - fish, beef, chicken or vegetarian. We then asked how much - vegetarian $10 the rest $25 . Latter seemed v expensive so we opted for the veggie option. it was fantastic. On later enquiry we discovered the other options were only $13, which was fine. When we asked for 2 beers the bar lady had no idea how much they were and had to phone someone to ask. The arrival was very much like an episode of Fawlty Towers but after that everything was excellent. My only real criticism is that the booking.com details are incorrect. We booked a one bedroom bungalow. Even though the details said it had 7 bedrooms we assumed this was incorrect and they were describing the property. The details also said the bungalow had air con, kitchen, fridge , coffee maker and washing machine. There was no air con in the room. This didn’t bother us but others may want it. I also booked the accommodation as it had a washing machine and I planned to wash all our clothes before part 2 of our journey. We did assume the washing machine and kitchen would be communal and the info re bungalow was incorrect. However none of these facilities were available. Fortunately, only the washing machine was a problem for us as we needed some clean clothes. eventually they agreed to take a small amount of washing to do for me free of charge. Apart from misleading information the whole place was amazing. Once we had overcome the initial hurdles the place totally grew on us.

We were treated very well here and every wish we had was fulfilled. I would recommend booking a massage. Absolutely worth the money. We also ate really well here and the rooms and hotel were spotless.

The road up to the hotel is very bumpy. Not really a problem though, since most local taxis don't have any problems dealing with that.

Das Personal war äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Als wir Probleme mit unserer Flugbuchung hatten hat sich insbesondere Faith sehr bemüht. Vielen Dank noch einmal! Die Unterkunft an sich ist sehr sauber und gut gepflegt.

Die Straße um zu der Unterkunft zu gelangen ist nicht wirklich eine Straße. Durch die immer wiederkehrenden Regenfälle gleicht Sie eher einem trockenen Flussbett. Grade für Selbstfahrer (wie uns) eine besondere Herausforderung. Zu erwähnen ist das die Inhaber ihr bestes tun um die Straßenverhältnisse zu verbessern!

Very happy to find this lodge after a big hike. Staff was extremely welcoming and the lodge is beautiful almost like a botanical garden. Special thanks to faith, the hostess, who really made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend!
