Had a great experience at Henry and Mariluz’s. The room was very cozy with a great view of the lake. Mariluz and Henry prepared lunch, dinner and breakfast for us and the food was very good. Henry took us to the temples of Pachamama and Pachatata where we were able to enjoy the views and the peacefulness of the island. The island is so quiet with amazing views that 24 hours felt way too short! We were also able to discuss with Mariluz and Henry to understand the life on the island, which was much appreciated and separates this experience from a regular hotel. Overall highly recommend to spend a night or more!

"An authentic and most relaxing couple of days on Amantani"

10.0

Wow! What an utterly incredible stay we had with Mariluz and Henri at Amantani Lodge. They are the most gracious and welcoming of hosts, and we can happily confirm that all the previous reviews we saw for Amantani Lodge were spot on. We received a very warm welcome and had breakfast and dinner with Mariluz and Henri (the food was plentiful, healthy and delicious)! We exchanged stories of our lives and families, and learned about life on Amantani. We arrived on a boat direct from Puno with Lago Tours, stopping off at Uros briefly. It is a bit of a climb from the port up to Amantani Lodge so we were glad to have left our main backpacks behind - and had packed for two nights with our essentials. For our return to Puno we took the hourly shuttle ferry back to the Peninsula of Capachica, and from there a collectivo to Puno, taking less than three hours in total. We were keen to hike to Pachamama and Pachatata and Mariluz kindly started us off in the right direction. What an amazing hike - we saw no other tourists; just local islanders herding their sheep, or leading a laden donkey along a pathway. We came away with the realisation that of our six months touring South America this was our most authentic experience. There are no cars on the island (and no dogs) so it is peaceful. We left a little piece of our hearts behind here ….. and would strongly recommend Amantani Lodge to anyone wishing to unplug from the world and enjoy the beautiful views and laidback life overlooking Lake Titicaca.

Nothing! We loved everything 😀

My stay at Amantani Lodge was outstanding. Henry and Mariluz provided exceptional hospitality and service, and the delicious meals were definitely a highlight. They were very accommodating and helped with all my transportation and other needs. The room was fantastic, featuring hot water, clean towels, comfortable mattresses, and cozy duvets that were perfect for the cold. The view was incredible, and I experienced the best starry sky of my life. All these elements combined made my stay at their lodge a dream, offering both comfort and warmth on the island. I highly recommend it! For reservations and logistics arrangements, I suggest contacting Henry directly. He is the best!

We had a fantastic time at Amantani Lodge. Henri and Mariluz were among the kindest people we've met on our travels—so warm, helpful, and welcoming. Mariluz's cooking was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed chatting with them over meals. The island itself is stunning, with a circular walk around it and two temples you can hike up to. There's also a charming little square where you can grab a coffee or a glass of wine. Since we decided not to book a tour, we were a bit unsure about how to get there. We ended up buying a one-way ticket from Uros Island, and on the way back, we took a 45-minute boat to Playa Chifron (they leave every hour from 5am)followed by a collectivo to Capachica, and then another to Juliaca. Henri and Mariluz helped us with it all. I’d definitely recommend visiting independently rather than with a tour!

Wow! What a charming stay! Henry and Mariluz were such accommodating and generous hosts. Henry carried our bags all the way from the ferry landing. Mariluz made such delicious home-cooked meals! The lodge had charming landscaping and stone work, and the hot shower was something we appreciated on the rustic island. What a delight, after a day of exploring, to sit on the lounge chairs outside, read a novel, sip on a glass of wine, and look out at the magnificent view. Plus it was fun to look at Mariluz's beautiful crochet work! Amantani Lodge gets a ten out of ten!

"An amazing experience, we were sad to leave!"

The best thing about our stay were the hosts, kind, friendly, willing to have long conversations with us despite our average levels of Spanish! They went irbid their way to make us feel really comfortable, the whole family were fantastic, they would make sure that we were heading in the right direction by sending a family member with us part of the way when we went to walk to the Pacha Mama and Pacha Tata. Mari Luz even walked us to the harbour on the day of our departure.

Nothing to not like, it was super clean, really comfortable and the views were incredible.

"Beautiful 2 night stay with Henry and Mariluz at Amantani lodge."

10.0

Delightful family. Henry and Mariluz were so welcoming. She made fresh food for breakfast and asked us so made lunch ( including a picnic) and dinner. Henry walked us up to Pachamama and introduced to plants to help with altitude. Great sunset from here. Mariluz showed us her weaving and knitting skills. The west side of the island where they were was tranquil. A map was shared so we could walk around the island the next day and also walk up Pachatata.

Nothing. Loved our stay. Tip for getting there: Ring Lago tours as they will stop at Inka wooden port at the bottom of the hill of their home. Contactact +51985900678 They leave the port in Puno by 7.45… so be there at 7am. The boat goes via Uros floating island then onto Amantini. The captain needs to ring Henry so they will come and meet you and walk to their home.
