Amantani Lodge

Lovely stay with a lovely family on Amantani. The room had a comfy bed, heating and a hot shower which was amazing for Amantani. The family were lovely and provided delicious meals. The location was great for us, close to the Plaza de Armas and a short but hard walk to the top of the island.

Probably our favorite place in Peru so far! Henry and Mariluz were the loveliest, the most welcoming and attentive hosts and such a lovely family. We’ve never wished more to speak fluent Spanish, but with some basic knowledge we got along quite well. We learnt so much about the life on the island from them! They also prepared abundant and delicious meals for us and gave us snacks to go when necessary. Apart from that, the location is perfect since Incatiana is a quiet village, but still close to the main plaza and to both Patchamama and Patchatata which are a must-do for hikers! And the view from the terrace is stunning. Our room was well equipped and comfortable including a hot shower and loads of blankets – Henry even gave us an electric heater in case we got cold. To sum up, we stayed for two nights, but if we could, we would even extend our stay.

What a gem of a family run hotel! It is more like a home-stay but with all the amenities of a hotel; really the best of both worlds. You get the charm of staying with a family, wonderful home cooked meals but also a comfortable bed, hot water, and a heated room!

Nothing- it was perfect!

This was such a special stay for us. We spent 4 magical nights with Henry and Mariluz. They welcome you into their home and family and look after you so warmly. We walked the island and it felt like the most beautiful part of the island to stay. The food was fantastic - always varied and great for vegetarians. They were happy to explain their customs and culture and we learned so much from our stay. We loved the cultural night with a live band and traditional dancing. We couldn’t recommend staying here enough. One night is not enough - make time time to enjoy the walks, swimming in the lake and Henry and Marilluz’ company.

Everything about this place deserves 12/10. Mariluz and Henry are super nice as their home and the island is very special. Thank you for everything

Great hosts, amazing views, delicious meals

Had an incredibly memorable stay here with Henry & Mariluz. They will welcome you in their home with arms wide open and treat you like family. They are some of the nicest & kindest people I've ever met. It was so incredible learning about life on the island from them and eating amazing homemade meals by Mariluz. They took the time to pick us up at the port, walk us back and help us get on the boat, talk with us for hours at dinner and they even pulled out their telescope for us, so that we could see the full moon as well as some handmade traditional clothing that we could try on. Aside from their incredible hospitality, the rooms are nicely decorated & clean, and the property is in a great location, quite close to the ceremonial centers which we went to twice. Amantani is a really special place that was soooo fun to explore. We walked the entire island and absolutely loved how peaceful it was. It's an experience I highly recommend, and hold dear to me. Choose this place with these people and you won't regret it. The gratitude they express for staying with them is so touching and you will fall in love with the island & with them.
