Spectacular location, very comfortable rooms, great lodge.

The view

The food is cheap, they charge extra for water (2 glasses of cheap wine and a bottle of water 18$) and alcohol. The room was full of ants and other flying insects. We changed rooms cause they were all over biting us. And this happened after we went for dinner and someone actually went to the room and prepared the room for the night. That means they didn’t check the room at all. When we left they asked me about our stay and the manager was shocked, he didn’t even knew about the incident. Not worth to pay this money ever for this hotel. In Africa try small hotels and camps please. People are amazing and food is top. They take so much care of you. In the big hotels we had bad experience everywhere. I wouldn’t pay more than £200 a night here ever. My room was at then end £1050 for 2 nights from £975. Exchange rate I think so. For me everything was overpriced in Africa. Is still Africa not London where I live. In Dubai for £500 a night you get a 5 star hotel with a nice view and top food and amazing service. Thank you!

Perfect location, absolutely stunning to see the magnificent Ngorongoro crater from the comfort of the lodge. Especially sunrise is breathtaking. The stay itself is a unique experience. Staff are very well trained and very attentive to guests, they all have shown us true East African natural hospitality.

Can get a bit crowded at reception and in the restaurant during the dinner time. This is a big lodge that also hosts big groups.

The attention of the staff is really great. We were so happy.

Stunning views over the Ngorongoro Crater from every room. It is this that is the principal reason to choose this Hotel. Everything else was OK but not spectacular. In our case we were particularly disorganised about all our park permits as we self organised the trip, not using a safari company, and a flight delay took our park entry past 6 PM. It was all sorted with help from the hotel but then we were fortunate to have got the mobile phone number of a particularly helpful manager; this turned a potentially disasterous trip into a great one!

As far as facilities, food and other offerings everything was adequate but not special. At least the cost was not as high as many of the other hotels in the area!

The location and view are amazing, the staff is very friendly, the structure and food were great too.

The rooms have fantastic views over the crater and are very comfortable. The heating system works well and is needed at nights. The bar and restaurant have similarly great views and is lovely to chill out and relax. The Wi-Fi works well and reasonably fast. The lodge is close to the descending and ascending roads to the crater- both of which are paved and don’t present too much of a driving challenge The staff are all very helpful. If self driving, it is useful to know the lodge does have repair work shop where basic repairs can be done.
