Sunset Lodge & Safaris

An absolute gem. The hosts are great and so knowledgeable. They care deeply for the environment and make sure the lodge is eco friendly. Super nice room, very clean and beautiful. The property is so nice, we sat around the campfire at night and the food was always freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Definitely highly recommend this place. We stayed 3 nights, did the full day Kruger tour, a half day game drive and a bush walk, as well as the boat ride in Blyde Canyon. Our hosts organized everything for us and it was super easy and comfortable. The Orpen gate is about 45 minutes away. On the property there are zebra, giraffe and many antelope. So lovely!

Wij hadden een fantastisch verblijf bij Sunset Safari Lodge. We verbleven met ons gezin in de familiebungalow, die veel ruimer was dan verwacht, met heerlijke bedden, een prachtig rustgevend zicht en niet vergeten als extra een zalige buitendouche. Het avondeten dat elke avond op het vuur werd bereid, was het lekkerste wat we gegeten hebben op onze hele reis. Hetzelfde geldt trouwens voor de overheerlijke desserts. De hosts, Toni en Vincent, waren ontzettend gastvrij en hun personeel (Andrew & de dames) heel vriendelijk, hartelijk en professioneel; ze deden er alles aan om onze reis perfect te maken. We hebben al onze activiteiten met hun geboekt, i.e. Guernsey Sunset Game Drive en Guersney evening bush walk, full day safari in Kruger en quad bike drive. Die laatste deden we op hun aanraden, en was een hele toffe uitstap voor zowel ons als de tieners, en waarbij we ook veel dieren zagen. Op alle safari's werden we begeleid door uitstekende gidsen Andrew, Isaac en Vincent. Hun kennis over fauna en flora is indrukwekkend. Dankjewel Vincent, Toni & staff voor deze geweldige ervaring! De fijne gesprekken rond het kampvuur zullen we nooit vergeten. We komen terug.

Alles was perfect.

We really loved our stay at the Sunset Lodge. Toni and Vincent are 2 lovely people who really make you feel at home. The accommodation arranges several excursions like safari tours and other thing. During our stay we took the Big five morning Safari drive and would recommend this one. We did not try the other ones but they also looked very nice. Every day ends with a drink at the campfire where Toni and Vincent (and maybe other guests) will join you and talk about the experiences of that day and the plans for tomorrow. Toni and Vincent can give you very usefull tips also for when you are driving the Kruger Park by yourself. During the drinks at the campfire the lovey staff of the lodge will prepare diner. Diner will be served at 19:00 and then you eat with the whole group. We really loved this experience and loved the cozy feeling. 100% recommending this accommodation!

De gastvrijheid & vriendelijkheid van de hosts en al het personeel. Daarnaast was alles super goed verzorgd, van het eten tot de aankleding, met name als je in ogenschouw neemt dat je in een wild reservaat verblijft

Our stay was simply amazing. Tony and Vincent are incredibly welcoming hosts and we enjoyed many dinners and talks with them. Their lodges are self sufficient in water and electricity and all the homecooked meals were delicious. We did a sunset safari drive with Vincent which was very nice as he told us a lot about the nature and it was a great way to start our stay there. We saw some awesome animals up close in a 2 hour drive through the guernsey reserve. We wished we could have stayed longer to also do the bush walk or the camping and learn lots more. Our stay here has been the highlight of our trip so far!

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Safari Lodge in Guernsey! The lodge was peaceful, comfortable, and surrounded by nature — a perfect place to unwind. Our hosts, Toni and Vincent, were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay, offering helpful tips, local knowledge, and warm hospitality throughout. We truly appreciated their kindness and personal touches. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect

All, Tony & Vincent are welcoming perfectly and want you to feel at home and benefit from this nice, peaceful and bush embedded location. We had a great local walk to understand not only the animal tracks but also trees and traditional way of living thanks to Andrew & Vincent. The team is wonderful and the relation is cool and respectful. The confort is perfect and the food very good and healthy. We will recommend this place to friends and anyone coming next to Kruger Park. You have very access to Game Park Safari and other nice activities ! Nothing at all

Séjour de 3 jours absolument exceptionnel... Vincent et Toni sont des hôtes incroyablement gentils, simples, dévoués, prévenants... Ils ont tout fait pour que notre passage soit un succès :)) Cuisine excellente, que ce soit le petit dej ou les repas du soir ( tous différents avec de la cuisine locale autour d'un feu de bois et d'un braai ), l'organisation d'activités ( safaris, marches, croisière sur le Blyde River Canyon etc. ) ou la vie du quotidien ( laundry, wifi, messages pour signaler des animaux dans le jardin, vin ou bière... ). Au milieu des girafes, impalas, zèbres, gnous qui peuvent apparaître n'importe quand dans la journée dans le jardin, c'est absolument une expérience magnifique... La chambre est très bien, propre, les douches ( il y en a aussi une à l'extérieur ) ont de l'eau chaude, le wifi est suffisant même pour du streaming, il y a un mini frigo également. L'équipe qui gère la cuisine et le nettoyage est super gentille et compétente également, sous la supervision d'Andrew et de sa bonne humeur constante. Des moments de partage et d'échange passionnants, vivre chez l'habitant dans un milieu sauvage a été un moment fort de notre aventure Sudaf 😎🤩 On recommande évidemment l'endroit les yeux fermés, l'expérience est unique à tous points de vue. Aucun souci pour trouver le lodge avec Waze ou Google Maps. Les 10 derniers kilomètres font partie du charme national si vous avez déjà goûté aux safaris sur piste 😁

We hadden een fantastisch verblijf bij Sunset Lodge. We werden goed ontvangen en werden geholpen bij het inplannen van game drives. ‘s Avonds konden we wat drinken aan het kampvuur waar ook het eten werd bereid. Het eten was fantastisch, het liefst van al zouden we onze gehele roadtrip in Zuid-Afrika van hun diners kunnen genieten. Een echte aanrader en perfecte uitvalsbasis om Kruger te ontdekken.
