Nature Glow Cottage

The stay here at nature glow has been my favourite of my trip to Sri Lanka! The family here are so so welcoming, treating us to juice when we arrived and the most amazing dinner and breakfast! I highly recommend getting dinner as the food is so good and you learn a lot about Sri Lankan dishes. We decided to extend our stay to spend more time in the beautiful jungle and room. The room was clean and had a hot shower and AC! The family showed us around to the fruit and spices that they have here, introduced us to their son and just really made us feel at home. Highly highly recommend making a stop here. We organized our safari ourselves (which sometimes seems prohibited at our accommodations) and they were happy to just host with no pressure to do a safari at all! One of the best stays in Sri Lanka!

Nothing all was amazing

This was by far the best accommodation I had in Sri Lanka. The hosts are incredibly kind and arranged a safari for me with a great local guide. The meals are delicious and served in generous portions. I have never seen such welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful hosts. I truly felt at home, in the heart of the jungle—it was paradise.

Nothing ! Everything was perfect.

This room exceeded my expectations by far. Very spacious room with a thee/coffee corner, two beds, table and chairs. Ac and fan but super cool inside so not even necessary to turn on the AC. Finally a room with bedside lights and proper curtains. And the most lovely balcony with a view of the jungle and the river running down below which you can also hear and is very calming. The scenery round here is beautiful and an ideal location for visiting Udawalawe National Park, but also to just unwind and enjoy nature and Damiante’s delicious cooking. Probably the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far and the portions were huge. You will not go hungry. Also just a very loving and caring family that are always available to help you in any way the can. I highly recommend the place to any and everybody visiting Sri Lanka.

Everything was better than I could have imagined it to be.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Nature Glow Cottage. The family is so lovely. They helped me organize the safari tour, which was really great! The food there was incredible. And I got to olay badminton and Karam with their son, which was a beautiful experience. Thank you so much for everything!

We have never experienced such a warm and welcoming family during our travels! They took such great care of us and made us feel completely at home. The food was absolutely amazing, and we even had the chance to cook with them. They showed us everything step by step, which made it such a special and unforgettable experience. We also had so much fun during the game night with their son—it was filled with laughter and joy. This family truly goes above and beyond for their guests. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! The owners are the friendliest and most heartwarming people we met in Sri Lanka. They just help immediately with everything. We just stayed one night because of the safari, but you can easily slow down life there for a few days. There is nothing negative: just the pillows could be a bit softer, but that’s not really a problem.

We were undecided about our National Park visit. We saw the evaluations for nature glow had, and it turned out they were 100% accurate. They organized a driver to pick us up and Ella and drive us to their magical accommodation. There are two accommodation villas located on a rise of land above a small creek entering a larger river. It's very much in the jungle with wildlife abounding. The air conditioning, which was important to us worked very well, and the bed, room and bathroom were all very good. Our hosts arranged for a safari driver for the two of us. The next morning we are up early and went on Safari in the national park. We saw many many elephants, both solo and in groups of females with their babies. And we also saw a variety of other wildlife. For us Sri Lankan food was a new experience. I fully recommend that you arrange to have your breakfast and dinner at the villa. The dishes were authentic and delicious. We were treated to a variety of different Sri Lankan food. Our host were wonderful people. They took pride and doing everything possible to make our stay as comfortable enjoyable and interesting as possible.

These hosts are outstanding. We have never before met so friendly, super nice and warm people. The food was great as well and they were all the time available and they easily arranged everything we asked for. The location is mini jungle, we loved it! There is also a sweet restaurant nearby with very fun and kind people. One day we' ll be back to this place! Their good vibe and beautiful karma worth a lot!

What a perfect stay! It is in the middle of the jungle with 2 rivers flowing right by, perfect if you want some rest and calmth :) The hospitality is great the owner is a great cook and her husband gave me a tour of their beautiful garden with all the fruit and vegetables growing. The food they cooked was AMAZING tried stuff I have never before. The banana curry was to die for!!

That i only booked 1 night :(

We were apprehensive booking this place, because there are so many scam places in Udawalawe and the reviews seemed too good - but they’re all true! Everything exceeded our expectations for the price: the beautiful balcony and view, the nice clean rooms, the food, and the amazing kind hosts who go above and beyond! They have the most beautiful and peaceful spot down by the river where you can swim, relax and play badminton. If we could have stayed longer we would. This should be the go to place for anyone thinking of going to Udawalawe!
