Wilpattu Jungle Resort

This venue is situated " in the middle of nowhere". The facilities are therefore basic, but everything you may need, is available. We had great diner and breakfast....and absolute silence during the night, accept the nature life sounds. We recommend this place.

It was a really cute house, even tho we only saw it in the dark - the staff was really really nice and cooked us delicious food even late and organized an early tuk tuk for safari:) we would come back

The owner was extremely kind and welcoming. Once we arrived we were welcomed and got a cup of tea and then she asked us if we wanted dinner, breakfast and if we wanted to do the safari, which she arranged for us directly for the next morning. The room was very beautiful and clean. Even better than you would expect from a place in the middle of the jungle. When we left for the safari we got a complete picknick box with breakfast and water and the tour was very nice. We did the half-day tour, which was long enough for us (you leave at 6h and are back at 12h) and we saw a lot of animals. If you do the 2-day tour, make sure to book for 2 nights, as you will be back in the dark, so it is almost impossible to leave then. Good to know: she had no change, which is completely okay of course, but make sure to bring enough different bills (we only had large bills).

It’s nice and remote in the middle of the jungle. Very quiet and comfortable. The owner was super polite and friendly and made us dinner and breakfast to go.

They have only solar power, which is great as such, but you won’t be able to charge devices during rain/night. Getting there on wet roads is very difficult since it requires all wheel drive cars. They charge a service fee on dinner and breakfast.

Great place to stay, stayed 3 nights , in the middle of the nature. Lot of birds and various types of lizzards. Next to a beautifull lake. The family takes really good care of you, makes you delicious food and also prepared breakfast- and lunch-to-go for us when we went on safari. Tuktuk from the main road can easily bring you to the resort, from both sides.

The owners are super kind and caring! They arrange everything for you and make delicious food. We even played games with their son for a whole night and he is so so polite and his English is very good. Saw 4 leopards on safari! The rooms have everything you need, and it was not too hot in de nights. There is a place with picknick table which really adds to the experience. You will not regret staying here!!

We arrived where late, had some trouble on the road, the owner's brother came by to help, his wife cooked us a nice dinner (noodles with some vegetables, chicken, and a potato curry) Breakfast was very good too, Coconut Roti, with Bananas and Daal. Very clean, generator for power until we went to sleep and after that some solar lights for the room. Running water (cold) very refreshing in the bathroom. Would really recommend this accomidation. They are also building a second house, which should be finished at the end of November 2024. Tip: If you plan to stay here, take the road that is approaching from the east side, it is more stable especially during the rainy season.
