TABARI DIVE LODGE

The owners and staff are friendly, island life is great every bungalow has sea view, food is everyday different and tasty.

We really loved our stay at tabari and would always come back. The location is just amazing - the view, the beach, the house-reef just perfect. You can even walk around the whole island which is fun or just go snorkling. You can also go diving every day which is fantastic - lots of coralls and fish, turtles and even mantas. The girls in the kitchen are doing real magic so the food is just amazing and always so creative and freshly Made. We even had lobster once. Also, jeff and brigitte are so nice people, they just created a small paradise and we are so thankful for everything.

The last paradise, that's what they say about the place, and it's true. Our stay at Brigitte and Jeff's went beyond anything we could have imagined. A wonderful place with wonderful, warm and humble people who made our stay an experience that is hard to put into words. Delicious food! Indonesian and continental cuisine can be enjoyed. The bungalows stand right next to the sea and you fall asleep with the sound of the ocean waves. Beautiful and well-equipped bungalows with rare luxuries like your own bathroom. Scenery as if from paradise, humming palm trees and coral reefs close by. Snorkelling and diving with experienced and cordial instructors who took care of our comfort. All the equipment is provided. You can even learn to dive if you want to. This place is perfect for anyone craving peace, quiet and intimacy away from the tourist crowds. One is literally on one's own private island. Wonderful! Brigitte's hospitality and her efforts to make us happy will never be forgotten as she fulfilled all our wishes. There is one big downside to this place - coming back - and it is best to come for longer. We were only there for 6 days, and we feel that we have to come back to this place to see more and revel in the beauty among the warm-hearted people. Big thanks to Brigitte and Jeff for making this experience unforgettable!

Bungalow on the ocean…need I say more? Stunning. Loved having a hammock on our porch. Staff are all the happiest and kindest people on earth. Food is amazing with delicious fresh fish multiple nights and many varieties. We brought cake ingredients to bake a bday cake for our daughter staying in Arborek and they baked a huge awesome cake for her, then they took us there to celebrate with her that evening. It was also my husbands bday and they helped make it such a fun one. The ladies sing a lot and you can see that everyone working there is appreciated, truly happy, and part of a big family with the owners. Our dive guide and boat drivers also went above and beyond and the owner is right there to help you plan dives too. We saw a manta ray on the boat ride back to the hotel and they stopped to let us chase the manta and swim with it until almost running out of gas!!! It was beyond thrilling. The restaurant is on the water and surrounded by a shark nursery. You can sit there and watch them below you.

Only negative is the heat of Raja for those who aren’t used to no A/C. It didn’t bother others from Europe who were more used to it. I assumed there would be an ocean breeze but there usually was no breeze. We brought excellent Amazon battery operated fans that lasted through the night and I would strongly recommend them.

Brigitte and Gef are lovely people who did everything to make our stay pleasant. The food was delicious and varied. The cabins are beautiful and well maintained. There is no air conditioning in the cabins on the island and the humidity must be 100 percent and hot... there is electricity in the evenings and sometimes in the mornings. The dives were really good. I recommend taking a close personal diving guide because the currents are very strong in the water and it is difficult to dive even for those who have a lot of diving experience.

The location is stunning, the island is just beautiful and the huts are very cute. The food was also good, especially given how remote the location was. The diving was obviously just exceptional and the variety of trips we did during our stay was amazing. Hands down the best diving we’ve ever done. Manta Sandy being a highlight where we dived with 5 Mantas and stayed with them for over half an hour! The guides also help with carrying and setting up kit, which makes a huge difference. The house reef is also gorgeous with loads of reef sharks, turtles and big schools of fish. We also had decent 4g with Telkomsel sims which we got from Bali International (not that we used it much, was very nice to disconnect, but nice to know we could contact family etc if needed ) Everyone spoke some English as well so this was really helpful to us.

This is more a caution rather than something wrong, but we found it very hot and sticky at night. I think we were a bit unlucky that the weather was very calm so there was no breeze at night so even though we brought hand held usb fans we struggled. Others didn’t seem to though, so maybe we’re too used to a/c. The boats often went out without O2 on board which seems a risk. Whilst all the dive guides were amazing I think this site is probably better catered to divers who are more advanced than we are being only Open Water. We did feel a little thrown in at the deep end (so to speak). That being said the diving was incredible. Overall though we had an incredible stay and would recommend to any passionate diver to stay here.
