Kruger Private Lodge

So hard to explain just how good this place is. But I’ll give it a go, INCREDIBLE and some of the best views in Africa. I found this lodge online and was not expecting what I found. The Location within Marloth Park is stunning. From my balcony I could look across the river into the Kruger Park and watch Elephants playing, Hippos, crocodiles, Impala, Kudu, Bushbuck etc etc. The mornings and evening are spectacular. Looking East downriver we watch the sunrise and that night looking west upriver we watch to sunsets, all from my own balcony. The Lodge is under new ownership and the team are amazing. Their focus on client experience and attention to detail reminds me of the best hotels I’ve stayed in around the world, while the relaxed way they do it and spend time with you is like being at home with the family. The rooms are big and very well laid out, they have everything you need and expect. The breakfast and dinner are served on the lower deck or by the fire (my favourite), the drinks selection is good, and the new owners are working on a plan to expand the choices and add more options to make your stay even better. Don (the manager) lives on site and makes sure everything run smoothly, he is also one of the game drivers and his knowledge of the bush is outstanding. You can book individual or group tours into the Kruger Park (20-minute drive away) or just watch the game come to you from the balcony. Highly recommended. The value for money is excellent, and I will be back for another visit asap

Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und an top Lage. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und die Kommunikation sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Abendessen war herrlich und das Frühstück vorzüglich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können es zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und die Unterkunft ist hervorragend traumhaft gelegen am Fluss. Man kann einen Spaziergang zu einem schönen Aussichtspunkt machen, an dem wir Hippos sehen konnten. Kudus, Impalas und Warzenschweine haben uns begrüßt.

Die Anfahrt war aufgrund von vorhergehenden Überschwemmungen etwas holprig.

If you’re considering staying here, especially in one of the river view rooms, don’t hesitate — book it. You won’t regret it. Don and his team go above and beyond to make your Kruger experience truly memorable. The lodge is one of the few properties located directly on the Crocodile River, offering breathtaking views into Kruger National Park from the comfort of the lodge itself. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. What makes this place truly special, however, is that the safari experience doesn’t end when you return from a game drive. After an early morning safari, you can relax on the deck overlooking the river and continue spotting wildlife. During our stay, we saw elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and even a leopard from the lodge terrace alone. The wildlife experience is not limited to the river views. The lodge’s garden and bush surroundings are regularly visited by animals, making wildlife encounters a part of your stay from the moment you wake up until the sun goes down. The atmosphere is peaceful, the views are spectacular, and the location is simply unbeatable for anyone wanting to experience Kruger from sunrise to sunset. To top it all off, the lodge offers a fantastic three-course dinner prepared by their chef and served while watching the sunset over the river. It was easily one of the best dining experiences we had in South Africa! A perfect place to stay if you want exceptional hospitality, incredible wildlife viewing, and a true Kruger experience.

From the moment we arrived, the staff's warmth and attentiveness made us feel completely at home. Every interaction was genuine and nothing felt like too much trouble. Both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. The location is simply breathtaking. Located directly above the river with stunning sun (set and rise!) views aswell as abundant wildlife. Our room was cozy, spotlessly clean, and treated us to that same gorgeous river view every morning. What truly elevated our stay, was the Manager and his kind team. Going far beyond the expected, he answered our questions about the local wildlife, helped us source groceries, and guided us toward activities that made our trip genuinely memorable. It's rare to find hospitality that feels this personal. We will definitely come back in the future!
