we stayed in Pennywise cottages from 16 to 24 jun, as two bookings. Hotel is set in a beautifully landscaped garden setting, with authentic wood carvings, in all sizes, big to small. has a very good kitchen, used by us fully, as food is very expensive, buying bread, vegetables, fruits, sausages, cooked food like beef stew, chicken roast etc(variety available), from PICK & PAY, Supermarket, 15 mts walk. through the hotel did Victoria Falls sunrise walk, 13 mts Helicopter flight over the falls, Zambesi sunset river cruise, Gorge Zipline, Boma dinner & drums show, Canopy Walk. All very well organised, though expensive, value for money. Must do. Boma tram early in the morning is NOT worth doing as it goes to Victoria Falls bridge the main attraction. NO wildlife. Instead spent half a day at the Bridge admiring the scenery & various activities like Zipline.Through the Govrnment tourism centre, 20 mts walk, at city center, we did the 3 to 6 PM, Chamabondi wildlife Safari, seeing three big elephant herds, one big Cape buffalo herd, zebras, other animals & birds. Must do safari. Did not do the Botswana Day Safari, as we did not have multiple entry visa & very expensive, beyond our budget. all restaurants, in City Center, none near hotel, very expensive & 20 mts walk from hotel. hotels at City Center very expensive, beyond a budget traveller. Pennywise cottages a heaven for budget traveller, in a very tranquil setting. Penny the hosekeeper, is all in all, here, works very hard, keeps the place spotlessly clean, provides a super breakfast for 5USD.
The Hotel does NOT have a whatsapp contact. so very difficult to communicate. Only through Booking.com, Replies to queries delayed. NOT suitable in modern day travel. complimentary drinking water provided only on first day. should provide everyday
