Loved the town, beautiful. The property was still walking distance from the surrounding onsens and town, although a bit far from the ski resort. However, there was an hourly free shuttle bus that ran between 8am is to 5pm, so that was good. Loved the private onsen in the shared bathroom and robes. The futon beds were comfortable and warm. Generous toiletries in the sink area too.

We were slightly confused about the breakfast arrangemnt, which was our fault for not checking if the booking had included it or not. We ended up sitting at the table, to find ourselves being told off by the lady quite bluntly that the breakfast wasnt for us. When we offered to pay or add on (even through online), we were declined. I think the way the lady informed us could have improved, as we were quite embarrassed being barked at in front of the other guests. Another small mishap was that we had to pay by cash, as there was a problem with the booking online payment. Lucky we brought enough cash, withdrawal from atm would have wasted our time as we were only there 2 days.

Lady running it is nice but for what you get, overpriced in my opinion. Two sinks to brush your teeth for the entire 2 upstairs floors and a single shower in the building. No parking on site either.

We stayed 6 nights, the host Akiko was lovely, and even with limited English was a superb host. She really went out of her way to help us when our next hotel booking was unexpectedly cancelled. The rooms were a good size for a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. We really liked the mini onsen in the hotel, the constant supply of free green tea. We went for the breakfast option, it was incredibly varied with lots of local produce including Akikos home grown vegetables. She provided a helpful briefing when we arrived which help us settle in. The place was always impeccably clean, about 10 mins walk Nagasaka gondola. We moved to a similar type of place on our last night (due to lack of availability at Aigakusou) and really noticed a big drop in accommodation standard. For those interested in skiiing we found the resort excellent for both beginner and intermediate skiers, excellent powdery snow, efficient well run lifts, beautiful scenery and lots of options with long winding green runs and more challenging reds.

Shared bathrooms, however since they were so clean, and never any waiting time, it was a small inconvenience and already reflected in the price point for this accommodation.

This lodge style accommodation was great for our family of four, with two teenage boys. Amazing full breakfast served each morning, mix of traditional and western style options. Small private Onsen bath for use of guests. Easy walk to various public Onsen. Easy walk to restaurants and convenience stores. Our host was a delight. Very helpful, and when my son hurt his knee snowboarding, she was very helpful in arranging transport for us. Shared common room with couch and table where we could eat take-away meals. Drying room downstairs.

Two showers meant sometimes waiting when lodge was full, but Onsen is easy 3 minute walk down street.

The host was really friendly and helpful.

Cute little place super close to the nearest ski lift and a convenient storage space for all of the gear to dry. Owned by the sweetest and most welcoming lady.

Everything was wonderful, could’ve spent way more time there
